    OK, so i have looked online for suit hire etc but i am so clueless as to what to get or what they cost?!

    Can anyone recommend any ideas or know rough prices for what suits cost..

    I'm after suits for - Groom, Best Man, 3 Ushers, My Dad, His Dad and My Stepdad and our son (who will be 6 when we marry).

    Hi Laura,

    The suits that I hired, from a bridal shop in Reading, were just under £80 each. They were adult suits, as I had no young boys as part of my wedding party.
    For that price we hired;

    * grey morning suits
    * white shirts (not hired, we had to buy them from the hire shop -to keep, but still included in the price)
    * cream waistcoats
    * black shoes
    * emerald green cravats

    I hope that helps x

    Ohh right so do most shops do shoes in their packages? I'm guessing the shoes were returned?

    Ours didn't include shoes. Think we paid around £100 per suit including the shirt that the men keep after, they return the tails, trousers, waistcoat, cravats, hanky and cufflinks. Hubby's suit was free because we got 5 suits for the others.

    You will find that a lot of places do a free suit for the groom aswell if you order so many which you would qualify for. We had two options which was a well known suit hire place $lat£rs and a local supplier. We went with the local supplier in then end which were slightly more expensive but suits were much better quality and still under budget so still a win win! I would say look online and search for local suppliers and there are the usual big names to check if theyre in your area x

    We originally looked at M0ss Br0s as they were quite reasonable and included the groom having their suit for free like other ladies have said.

    However, we went with a small local company (the same company we are getting our chair covers from) because if you got suits from them they gave you a discount on chair covers.

    Originally we were quoted £800 from the local company for 7 adults suits (grey morning suits including; jacket, trousers, shirt, waistcoat, cravat, handkerchief and cufflinks) but M0ss gave us a quote of £700 after explaining this the local smaller business gave us a quote of £650, so it may be worthwhile contacting some smaller local companies as they may be cheaper for you.

    Hi Laura,

    Yes, the shoes were part of the package. We were going to just ask the groomsmen to wear their own shoes, but with the shoes being part of the packge, we decided to utilise them.
    Then the shoes were returned with the suits x

    Were going for an online company called ***********, who hire any suit for the same price. We've got 9 people to dress so wanted it to be cost effective.

    They deliver the Friday before you're wedding, so everyone can try them on, then they collect them if they need alterations, they bring them back. Then they collect them from as many addresses you want after the wedding (for a surcharge) and they are £57 a suit, £60 if you take the insurance as well. They include, trousers, shirt, waistcoat, tailcoat or jacket and tie/cravat, oh and the pocket hanky thing. They are fantastic quality and you can submit measurements online. They also do children's packs which include shirt, waistcoat, tie or cravat for £25. Our whole lot will cost £505 for 8 men and one child.

    I really wanted to use them too but my oh is ridiculously fussy! He tried on suits in sl@ter$ and one of the reasons he chose the tail option is that was the one that fitted him! He is still worried as he wont be getting 'that' jacket. I swear hes more female that I am sometimes, coukd have saved money! If it keeps him happy......

    So we went to the shop mentioned, suits were 80 and this was for tails, trousers, shirts, waistcoat, cravat and hankie. The groom goes free so 400 for 6 suits.

    My advice would be to look local, rather than the well known shops, as a lot more room to haggle the price. Also somewhere they have all the suits, waistcoats etc in stock, so any problems the day before when everyone tries on their suits can be sorted problem free!
    We are paying £79 each for morning suit, cravat, handkerchief, shirt, waistcoat and shoes xx

    h2b hates suits! we will be getting a suit from the local supermarket beginning with "T", h2b's will cost £35 for a shirt, trousers & jacket, I already have a tie that only cost £1.79 on the bay. I'm contemplating whether or not to buy my boys a suit, i have found 5 peice suits on the bay for £21.99 each, however for just a jacket the cheapest i have found is £16.99 each, so the original plan was to get just the jackets & make them wear their school uniform, now im not sure. lol

    but yes, £36.79 for shirt, jacket, trousers, tie - h2b already has shoes (doc martin boots lol) and no need to give anything back.

    edit - I have just discovered that i could get a pocket hanky for 99p free p&p for h2b's suit too

    I also was going to use 'fy' but I stressed myself out if people couldn't get their measurements right and it messes up!! So as we had abit extra Xmas money,we decided to go to a suit hire place locally (4 to chooses from) there's 4 men,oh,fil,best man and my dad!! So we was expecting to pay around the £400 mark!
    Well we went to a wedding fair yesterday got the 4 suits (with groom free) AND 20% off :) so paying £316 so happy about it :) x
