The day after the wedding was really upset to discover 3 and a half of my tables statues from the center pieces have been nicked along with my husband's sonic screwdriver that I bought him for his birthday.

It's left a really sour taste in my mouth about the day, they cost me around £100 but that's not the point that they are very sentimental to us.

That's awful; try contacting your guests maybe in the thank you cards saying some of them have gone missing and they are sentimental so you wanted to keep them so if anyone may know where they are can get let you know? Someone might have taken them thinking there was no use for th after the wedding

That is awful, I agree maybe try contacting and just explaining the sentimental value. I'd like to think the people you think are close enough to invite to your wedding would only take things thinking you wouldn't mind and wouldn't want them after the wedding.

It annoys me that people take centre pieces and think nothing of it. At our wedding, people were taking the lights from, the fish Bowls, I had to try and find some, ended up having to replace four sets.

That's a good idea for the thank-you cards. I have put a post on fb about it, saying please just return them and nothing more will be said. That we just want them back. It really annoyed me, would they come into our house and take them, would think no. But a wedding is a free for all??? After we paid for there meal and favors etc

I hope they return safely, this happened at my friends wedding guests had taken the crystal centrepieces that the venue had actually supplied and they charged her £50 for each one missing...she put a polite message on facebook and some of them returned. you would think if people liked them or wanted them as a memento the would ask first!

Hope you get them back. Have you asked some of the people close to you. Same thing happened to a friend of mine and it turns out her aunt had taken them so they wouldn't go missing or get taken lol

Did you invite a lot of children? They may well have taken them & put them in their room without the parents even noticing.

This is one of my worries, so I think I'm going to put H2B's dad in charge of putting them away safely at the end of the night, as he doesn't drink.

It's a shame when that happens, you'd think people would check before taking something as a souvenir. We had some toys in centrepieces that went with children, but we'd made sure that anything that was on a table with a child and that might be of interest to a child was something that we were prepared to lose. A lot of the toy animals had been bought specially anyway. The items that were borrowed from parents we were more wary of, but we made sure that we grabbed them and put them to one side when the venue was turned round for the evening do so that they couldn't be picked up. One parent from the table with all the toy animals on did contact us to say that her son had put the animals in his bag and did we want them back, but we said no we'd anticipated that the children might want them. I'd agree with MrsRobson2Be, maybe children wouldn't realise that they shouldn't be taken. Also if you know which tables they were from maybe you could contact the people sat at those tables to see if they know what happened.

It sad when people do that. Something similar happened at my wedding. Someone stole one of the holders for the table names, but they were all hired, and we had to pay a fine to the decoration company. It wasn't alot, but people need to think that decorations aren't there to be taken home as a keepsake.

Thats just awful! I've heard of this happening before and it was some guests thinking that they were just props the bride and groom wouldn't miss but like you they were sentimental. As far as I am concerned its theft and unacceptable. My OH and I have kept an inventory of everything we have and if anything goes missing, especially some rather pricey and sentimental props, I would be rather hacked off.
