I had my grandma's earrings for old, dress/ veil/ shoes as new, borrowed was my mum's garter which also counted as blue, plus I had a little blue bow on my wedding undies - and my best friend gave me a silver sixpence for my shoe, which actually held in all day no problem with just sellotape! xxxx

How old does something have to be to be classed as old? New- dress Borrowed- tiara and bouquet Blue- thinking of a charm on my braclet
The something old normally should be something you had as a child or borrowed/received family heirloom (something like jewellery maybe from mother, aunt, grandmother). My something old was my late grandmother's rosary which i carried down the aisle with me and my dad kept hold of for the rest of the day for safe keeping. So it doesn't have to be really old. Can be super old passed down through the family or can be 5 or 10 years old. The 'old' signifies continuity x

Maybe a fmaily member had a silver sixpence from their wedding which you could borrow as the something old - 'and a silver sixpence in her shoe' as ar the end of the rhyme x

My old is my moms wedding hoop or my great nans engagement ring.
I dont really want to wear the ring but my hoop is both my old and borrowed at the minute so need to sort out something different for one of them.

I think it's fine to have old and borrowed as the one item xxx

My something old and something borrowed was the same item. I borrowed my great nan's brooch from my auntie who had it passed down to her.

Make your own rules
Technically something you borrow could also be old.

Blue - shoes New - dress/jewellery Borrowed - veil Old - no idea as yet, I have mentioned it to my mom a couple of times but she has no ideas either
What are others going with or are you not planning on doing it? I wasn't that fussed until my MOH said I could borrow her veil as it was really similar to ones I was looking at buying
