Wedding Forum - Some people amaze me!!...

At my last Works Christmas doo I got chatting to a wife of one of our employees and made friends with her on FB.

About 2 months ago I noticed she makes the odd cake for family and joked on FB saying "Can you squeexe me in" so we had a brief chat about what I was thinking of and I said all I know is that it has to be black and white and have something to do with NYC as thats where he popped the question. I had no idea what I wanted though.

This morning I had some cake wrapped up on my desk with a note saying taste me then look at your hotmail account. So I had a nibble and the cake was delicious then looked and she'd sent me some pics of a rough mock up cake she'd made to give me an idea of what I could take to the cake shops!! I was amazed!



I have now asked her how much would it be for a 5 tier one and if she would like to do it - she's jumped at it and said £200!

It's just her rough attempt so the actual thing should be great - I've seen her work, the detail is great - she's going to cut lights on all the buildings so will look good. I need to think of flavours - I now it's boring but I love a plain Victoria Sponge, we'll do the top layer in Fruit Cake (yuk) and maybe have a chocolate flavour for the kids. what are you all having? x

fruit will have to be at the bottom hun, i wanted it the smallest layer but the cake would sink as its heavier!! amazing cake though xx

I didn't think I did Kempy lol - I really like the cards - my sister in law to be (who's a designed for Paul Smith) has said she would like to design me something - I'm loving all the favours ha ha. xx

Now that is fantastic Toria - what a fantastic price, how lovely of her to do that for you. --
Not sure what all flavours our cake will be but thinking of Chocolate and devils food cake as two flavours but not sure about third layer, none of us really keen on fruit will see.
Im definately loving the Baileys idea.... lovely!! : ) lol

Your cake looks amazing. There's some very clever, talented people going around.

if you have them off set them you can have 1 of the smaller tiers fruit, mine is like that. (bottom to top..chocolate orange, chocolate fudge, fruit, lemon drizzle) mine is in my pics if you want to have a look at how to support it x
