Hi everyone, this is my second time around and we are planning a registry office at 10.30am...10 of us including bride and groom..just parents and siblings only. No photographer, no cars, no fuss..dad and sister will take photos on the beach...then lunch at the top of 28th floor tower overlooking beach and whole of city and marina..amazing views. Usual menu...posh restaurant. Then home in taxis..pjs on and relax...
I did a big wedding first time around with everything from 6 bridesmaids to three cars....chair covers ..photographer etc etc...this time its more important to seal the deal and be married as opposed to a big event..
Anyone else doing it this way?

Hi Laura, we are doing pretty much the same! Both of us have been engaged before but not married. But we don't like the thought of a big wedding with hundreds of people. We don't even celebrate our birthdays! We are getting married next Saturday in a registry office with 23 guests all just family apart from the witnesses. No car, just the taxi, no reception. Just a family meal afterwards at a really good restaurant. That's it! We won't go on a honeymoon. Instead we spend the weekend with my sister and brother in law as they are flying in from Germany.

We are having a small wedding abroad. This is both our first marriage but im not one for lavish weddings. We are having our ceremony on the beach and then to a venue for our meals and a dance.

My mum did a similar thing, 12 of us in reg office (including bride and groom) at midday, posh meal in a hotel afterwards and home for a cuppa by 5. Perfect.
Our perfect day - 08.08.15

Leanne that sounds beautiful!! I have been to a beach wedding in Australia before and it was amazing! Jenn your mum's wedding sounds perfect. Nice and small and especially stress free :)
Your day sounds wonderful. It was exactly what I wanted to do, but the OH decided otherwise. He has been married twice before, but I have never, and so he insisted on the big wedding for me. We did start off small - just 25 close family & friends, but as these things progress so did the size of the wedding. We are now upto 80 day time guests with a further 40 for the evening.
Oh how I long for that small intimate wedding.!!!
Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan
