    Hello,

    I have just one sister who is older than me - I have asked her to be my maid of honour. We’ve always been close so she seemed happy to do it but every dress I suggest, she hates! I’ve done my best to find a style she likes but just asked her to compromise on the colour. I would like a dusky pink as I have mainly pastel colours. The last dress I asked her to try was full length lace with sleeves so she doesn’t have to worry about her arms, it’s loose so she can eat and it’s not at all revealing (she’s only a size 12-14 whereas I’m a 16). She still hates it! What do I do? I don’t want her to be unhappy but it is my wedding and I feel like she should be happy to wear whatever I choose.

    Have you asked her to select any styles? I think what you need to do is go out shopping just the two of you have a sister day together, then ask her to pick styles that she likes. Don't worry about the colour initially just ask her to show you styles she likes then when you've found one you both like find it in the right colour.

    Good suggestion Stacey.

    The best way to shop for BM dresses is to just ask them to try on every possible style and then narrow it down to 2 she likes and you have the final say then choose the colour. That's how I did it for my wedding and for the times I've been a BM.
