We are having crystal candelabras on mirrored plates at our wedding. We original were going to hire martini vases, then saw how beautiful the crystal candelabras were. If any of you ladies are interested in hiring them rather than buying them, I would recommend Stylish Centrepieces, they had the martini vases as well as candelabras, they were the cheapest company that we found around our area.
CommentAuthormitch2509
how much are they, if you dont mind me asking. my venue wants £35 to hire for 1 day.
CommentAuthormissdickson12
The crystal candelabras are £18 each excluding candles which are 75p each, they are long lasting in whichever colour you want. By far the cheapest. I have seen the same candelabra being advertised elsewhere for £40! They are also letting us have them two days before the wedding so we have time to dress them.
just looked on you profile lol, it tells me your location,
im not your stalker promise... lol

I am having 80cm 5 arm silver candelabra,I wanted tall ones so that people could see each other across the table. My florist works with our venue dresser and they do the candelabra decorated with real flowers (antique roses and ivy) for £35 each. Might be worth looking around locally for a florist who works with a venue dresser. I live in a piddly little town and Newcastle is huge there must be someone out there where you are that can help by working together? ;o)

Emma Louise I went to reply but it got closed!! So heres what i was going to say:
We have only got 5 tables for the wedding breakfast and day, plus top table. then on night, evening reception is in a different room with 8 tables. Our centrepieces are thin vases with 4 or 5 calla lillies (artificial so can keep) with turquoise/silver accents on mirrored plates with turquoise and silver gems scattered around etc. As so small a room we dont want or need the big billowing centrepieces. With regards to the night, we're having 4 of the 8 fully decorated as same as breakfast, but then the other 4 will just have the mirrored plates and scattered gems and all with tea lights. They will be alternately decorated so all flows.
My OH's best man did the same for their wedding last year, they had martini glasses with flowers and squidgy things in on mirrored plates:
Not my Centrepiece BTW
then on night the room opened up to double the size and they just had a few extra tables, no centrepieces just candles and scatter gems, and just spread the original ones around so all flowed.
Hope that helps a bit xx

the squidgy things are called gel beads and are really easy to do, i got some for our wedding but changed my mind on the centrepieces but they were fun to play with!!!
There is a link to a place selling a big pack of them off for 99p in red and green if that helps anyone?!

Ok so this is an old thread but it is official so I was wondering if anyone has some nice ideas that we could decorate our variety of glasses with for our centre pieces.
I've thought crystals with water and floating candles maybes or crystals and led lights but I'm not one for creativity so any ideas would be greatly appreciated ... We haven't got a theme but most other things are vintage style so not sure if crystals and things will particularly look right!

what about ivory coloured candles to sit in each of them and then for the smaller tealight ones? Sorry creativity isn't my strength either. I've just hired bird cages to sit on mirror plates with fake flowers inside to match our colour theme.

That sounds nice lindsey ... If we ever get to the day at this rate!! The bird cages are lovely we liked them but his best friend had them at their wedding so didn't want them to think we copied them lol
CommentAuthorMrs Jones
That's far enough. I missed all of my OH's friends wedding as they all got married before I was on the scene and the last wedding I went to was over 2 years ago and I can't really remember what they had.

I know they are not the same as your glasses, but you could possibly get away with something like this.

Lovely ideas! Im still struggling with mine. Although i want to do something that has more than just bein pretty to look at. Was thinking of doing a pretty looking sweet table thing with some trivias etc so people have bits to do but not sure yet as it still needs to like nice and classy
CommentAuthorsade_j87
I'm making my own with my SIL's help as she's really good at crafty bits. We are doing different sized mason jars with fine glitter inside and longer burning tea light candles with silk white and blue roses, sat on mirrored plates with the flowers around the edges of the mirror. I have seen the tables set up when we walked around the venue with their own centre pieces and I instantly told my H2B it's not happening lol xx

I love this, you could do something similar in the glasses becci :-)
CommentAuthorStephH96
How about something with lace or ribbon? You could still go for the crystals idea and make it a Great Gatsby inspired decoration?
CommentAuthorMichelleC961
Or this is more like your vases becci

Just water beads and submersible lights , either static or colour changing, like the large center one which has 3 lights in it, lights beads, light, beads, light , beads which gives a fab effect I think :-) all the beads are just clear, cheap but rather effective I think :-)

Turn the glasses upside down, put a flower in the glass and a tealight on top. That's what I'm doing for mine, then I'm putting 3 of those on a mirrored plate with a few scatter crystals
CommentAuthorVanessaP268
hello im new to this site :) looking for ideas on fun fair themed wedding. thanks in advance
CommentAuthorStephH96
Hi Vanessa, welcome :)
I suppose for a fun fair theme its got to be candy floss and a sweetie cart.
I don't know what your budget is but you can actually hire dodgems...
Failing that some games based on a funfair such as hook a duck, coconut shy, they don't have to cost too much if you do it yourself. I'd love the idea of striped stationery, table runners etc to make them look like a helter skelter. You could have hot dogs if you are having an evening buffet.
Hope that helps :)

I'm thinking gold candelabras with flower and bead pearl garlands for our centrepieces, to go with our Victorian Garden Party theme. Plus I think they look very impressive in a venue.
