Some gorgeous cakes here! I wish I had a solid photo of what ours will look like! Thats the only downside of designing your own cake from multiple others for inspiration haha. I'm excited to just see it in front of me. x

We are having a 3 tier cake: bottom layer fruit cake and other two vanilla sponge with strawberry jam. It will have cadbury purple flowers on top with purple petals coming down the cake. Pic of our cake (but different colour purple) has been uploaded to my album.

I have found someone local to make me a cake topper, they can be personalised and she specialises in the groom wearing kilts as not often you find a kilted groom topper! and a fraction of the price of another cake topper maker I found xx

Morning Ladies,
The cake we are having is this: Bottom tier vanilla, Middle Red velvet, top chocolate.
The colours will be purple.
We have been quoted £220 by several people I have asked is this a reasonable price for a wedding cake? Just feel its expensive since birthday cakes are under £40 lol. :)

i was quoted £645 for this one but i think thats partly because of who is making it but i have found them to be more expensive (but in my opinion so much tastier) xx

The cake was one the hardest things for us during the planning, we knew we wanted Red Velvet, but had trouble finding one. We tested lots, and they all seemed too dry, so we eventually opted for mini cupcakes and a 6 inch cake on top, made by a coffee shop local to our venue!
They were a hit!!!

Don't know whether I want square or circular and then whether to go for just ribbon or with the floral details up the side because I think both are lovely

Why not look at pictures and combine them to make the cake you like the look of.
Why not try ribbon and flowers up the side of the cake. The Cake can be anything you picture (and your mum can make :))
