Now, after my 3 month long melt down over cakes i think i might be coming arund to a decission!! It's a miracle. I was looking through all the different styles in the this post and i'm thinking i might want tiers!! (after being set on cupcakes before i decided i didn't want a cake a t all!) And i'm thinking I like the icyig thats all sweepy? Rough looking? does that make sense?

I want my wedding cake to have 4 tiers either two chocolate as me and my H2B love chocolate but I also want carrot cake layer and one lemon cake as the mil does not eat chocolate depends who we get to make our cake and what fillings they offer.
don't know whether to have our cake topper made of marzipan both the H2B and i hate marzipan we would just keep but it would go horrible after a while. But i love the idea if mini us cake toppers in our wedding attire with our hair color make up eye color so cool. also would like a a green and blue rose with a crown to go with our wedding theme =D <3 X One day i shall put the picca on when i have a picca of it and i am a power user and can put pictures on my forum posts =D <3 X

We havent completely decided but so far my fave is a 3 tier circle cake, the bottom tier will have buttons on, a plain middle tier and a lace effect top tier. probably wont have a topper, im not a fan. the plain tier will have a taupe ribbon on it. x

hey everyone as we are getting married in a castle but reception in a hotel I have been having a think about having a smaller cake in the shape of a castle and then just making cupcakes myself for the guests.
only problem is i need someone to make the castle cake!!anyone know any good cake makers in central Scotland who could do this pretty cheaply?i have tried to attach a pic of a castle cake but dont know how to on this thread!!
any suggestions for a cake maker any scottish brides??xx

this is ours but 7 tiers instead as we have 300 odd guests. two layers are chocolate. one fruit layer,one lemon layer, one vanilla layer,one coconut layer,one strawberry layer.
we are also having 300 cupcakes, 100 chocolate, 100 plaine, 100 lemon.

A lovely lady at work has offered to make my cake :) She was in catering for 30 years and has made lots of cakes so i'm not as nervous as when she offered haha.. they are to die for according to the others :)
I have asked for cupcakes and a little cake for the top, and we decided on something like this:

This is the top cake, either in lemon or classic jam sponge

With 34 cupcakes like this in a mixture of strawberry and chocolate!!

Of course the cows will still be at the stop of the cake though hehe xx

Oooooo Mrs C, ours is quite similar to that too.

We have the same style but will have an ivory cake on each layer with Cadburys purple ribbon at the bottom of each layer with ivory and purple butterflies dotted here and there. The top layer, is where we will have the dot effect.

Our layers will be:

Top: Toffee and Banana
Middle: Victoria Sponge with Raspberry Jam and Vanilla Buttercream
Bottom: Double Chocolate Chip with Chocolate Buttercream.
