The Best Man has decided to do the Sp@rtan R@ce and this year it happens next month... one month before wedding :-S the OH has decided he also wants to go with him too and though I am happy for them I remember seeing what it was like when my brother did it... there is fire! not to mention they have to sign a waiver to state the event holders are not responsible for any injury or death.
Has anyone done this and left with all limbs where they are suppose to be? Was joking with the OH that if he ends up maimed or dead I am still going on the honeymoon.

which is he looking to do the sprint or the super ?
He hasn't decided yet. He went off to the gym this morning to see how far he could run before feeling winded and he managed 4k so he is planning on going to the gym every day to practice. Knowing my OH he will likely go for the Super.
He is actually pretty athletic as he use to be a professional swimmer specialising in Butterfly.

If he is going to do it make sure u have wedding insurence incase he injures himself and u need to postpone, which hopefully fingers crossed won't happen but better to be protected. If he really wants to do it he should go for it otherwise he might regret not doing it and as long as he's sensible on the day I'm sure it will go great :)

Good plan MrsC2bee. We do have wedding insurance and it does cover injury but I think I need to could check if it is considered accidental or not if he takes part in an event which is very likely to resort in injury.
I am happy he's wanting to do it. I just think he's being nuts with how close it is to wedding lol

He will be fine I am sure of it. I've not done that one, but know of people who have and they've been fine. A lot of the time they look worse than they actually are.

That will most likely be all he comes away with , some bruises. Last one I done was not too bad, the first one I done was awful,I'm had bruised legs and knees after falling onto my knees in a huge puddle straight onto some stones. They defo look worse than they are.

Have you told him you're worried?
A few bruises will be okay, just as long as they're not on his face.

Yeah I've told him I'm worried how he's either A. Going to look on the day. B. Loss of limb (I know my overreacting) or C. Dead (very overreacting) Would put a major spanner in the works if either of the latter 2 happen.
But I did say to him "On yer heed be it! I'm still going to Orlando in September!"
