So with about a year or so to go till the big day, I've realised that I should probably pull my finger out and send save the dates. I'm planning on making them myself (something I'm really starting to regret!), in a similar style to the idea I have for the invites - basically, I've found a place where I can get a stamp made and then I was just going to print them onto brown card. In my head, I have this idea of printing our name, save the date, and the date on the front and then on the back a little more info like, invitation to follow and something about our wedding website (again, yet to be organised...). Do you think that's okay? Will people turn over?! Or should everything be on the front to avoid confusion?
Also, I don't know whether I should put where we're having the wedding/reception. A lot of people we're inviting to the ceremony don't live in London - now, they know we're getting married in London, but they don't know exactly where. I was just thinking that if they want to start looking for hotels etc, it would be useful to know where it is. So, a) do we include the area of London as it's not central at all and b) how on earth do I incorporate that into the std?!
Thanks in advance! :-)

For ours we just put 15 Sept 2011 in Las Vegas and 15 October 2011 in London. We didn't mention where abouts in London (as we didn't know at that point), nor did we mention the website (as we didn't have one at that stage either). I think if people want to know more, then can always ask x

We had all the above mentioned info plus our wedding website details :)
I think you have to put the area hun, especially as it isnt in central London! We are getting married in Great Yarmouth (which is a sea side town) in August, so we will be putting where so that our guests can book accommodation as in the summer places get filled up quickly. Ours are going to say:
Save The Date!

Some people did get in touch to thank us for the std and then to find out if we knew where it was happening so they could book rooms at our venue so we told them - after booking out the rooms we wanted for the wedding party x

I'm putting Greenwich, London on the save the dates. A lot of people are coming from overseas so I think it will be helpful for them to know which area for flights/hotels. Where are you getting married? xx

Thanks for all your help and advice ladies! Decided to go for Save The Date on the front and then on the back 'Jo & Chris are getting married on 22nd June 2013. Invitation to follow.'
Still in two minds about putting the area, as technically it's two places lol.
MrsET - we're getting married in Bromley and reception in Bexleyheath. Whereabouts in Greenwich are you getting married?
Again, thanks for all the help ladies - dunno what I'd do without this place! Now all I've got to do is make the bloomin' things...!
