Ladies! Can I ask for some help,, my save the dates,, I wanted to put a card with them saying something along the lines of " if you know you can't make this date please let us know before the main invites gomout" obviously not worded quite as harshly lol, but because all of my invites are handmade pocketfold they are expensive and time consuming so I don't want to waste any.. is this something anyone else is doing or am I just going to have to bite th3 bullet and such up that I need more invites.. :( x

The save the date isn't an invite and usually you don't reply to one. I would scrap save the dates and just send invites earlier in your case to cut cost.

I think you'll have to bite the bullet on this one. Save the Date cards are just a little note for people get a heads up that there's a wedding on the horizon. They don't generally reply to them. You may find as I did that a relative told me they definitely wouldn't make ours as they would in Australia at the time. Not many people would know this far in advance tho to be honest. As suggested by Emily I would go straight for the official invites to save yourself some cash. Just send them a little earlier.
