Just wondered if people are having real or fake flowers and what made them choose? i like the idea of real flowers but heard stories of getting out of the car with bits on your dress and petals easier to fall off but then fake flowers just arent real

I personally don't like fake flowers anywhere so without question its real for me but u know done people like fake either cost or other reasons. Go for which you prefer :) x
Hiya, its such a hard choice, I always thought id have real flowers, but as time has gone on and worked out im already over budget I had to find places I can cut back on cash wise and I realised that I wasn't that bothered about flowers compared to other things, yes I want my wedding to be colourful and full of them but I don't want to spend £300-500 on flowers which don't last forever and I thought would be nice to keep some flowers as a reminder of our day and if want I can sell the rest on after the wedding....all I knew is that I wanted something pink and that I could do myself and with ease as Im going to be setting up the wedding myself and didn't want to be faffing about on wedding day making real flower bouquets. Then I saw some really good fake Bright pink gerberas and a couple of other pinky flowers and roses.. and I bought them, spent about £130 .. they are for the table centrepieces, also will make bouquets from them for my bridal crew to hold. But I'm having real flowers for my bouquet. I have done a mock up of my centrepieces and yes real flowers would look beautiful, but my wedding is more about having fun than making sure everything I have is beautiful...and I like the fact you can knock mine over and it wouldn't ruin anything. my centrepieces look fab, bright colourful and do the job and I can make them up way before the wedding , which is what I need.. I also will be going to asda 2 days before wedding and buying a few big bouquets of real flowers to have dotted about in the grounds so I do have some . it really is a case of working out how much it means for you to have them or not. :)
Soooooo excited to be marrying my Best Friend !!

I chose real, even on the flower girl wands.
Our car company won't allow the bouquet in the car, and have special lined boxes in the boot for them. This way they don't get damaged and there's no mess in the car.
We were lucky enough to find our real flowers didn't cost more than fake, so fake were never in the running as an option

We are doing real flowers with lots of scent. Using Eucalyptus and Jasmine in the mix with peonies, hydrangeas, and vintage roses. For me..the smell was important. My fiancé didn't think flowers were that important as they don't last and feel very fleeting. We found a lovely florist who has been super flexible with our budget and so supportive.
We got very lucky with her. If you are London/surrey based I hiiiighly recommend. Get in touch if u want details!

I have silk flowers for our bouquets button holes and my flower girls corsage etc then real flowers to decorate the rooms, the only reason I went with silk flowers for my bouquets is because they are the right colour I needed and they aren't foam so don't look like usual 'fake' flowers. I also considered the jewelled type of bouquets as they look amazing but out of my price range! I'm happy with my flowers but at the end of the day they aren't my biggest concern anyway there's much more important things to me I've spent money on!

I had fake so everyone could keep them afterwards, plus my moh would have been sneezing constantly with real. You can get some nice fake ones, but if you get a good florist you won't have the problem of petals falling off.

I've gone for fake flowers - I'm not a massive flower person so for me paying hundreds on real flowers wasn't worth it for me. We've paid £206 but that includes mine, 4 adult bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, 5 button holes and 3 corsages - this also includes sparkles and diamantes and butterflies!! xx

We're going for fake flowers. Never been much of a big flower person so can't get too excited about it. For me I feel like artificial flowers are easier - I'm going to do them myself too and can get them very cheap x

Flossie, I paid about £20 altogether for mine, that was flowers, ribbon, grasses. I tried doing them myself but not artistically minded, so a friend offered to do them for free.

I am having fake foam flowers, mainly because then I can keep them after the wedding and real flowers are almost double the price. I am paying £170 and that includes mine, 4 bridesmaids, flower girl wand and 2 buttonholes. I got OH's and my mum's buttonholes free with an offer they had on when I booked x

The good thing for me is that I want them to have a rustic feel so it doesn't matter if they aren't 100% neat and tidy lol xx

I'm having this dilemma!
All of OH family have really bad hay fever so real flowers aren't really an option. But I LOVE real flowers and my mom has offered to make my centrepieces (she does flower arranging)
really not sure what to do. at the moment I'm thinking real flowers for my bouquet and top table arrangement and centre pieces then fake for bridesmaid posies, button holes and corsages.
not overly happy with this though but not sure I have any other option.
you can get some really nice fake flowers but all the ones I have seen that are nice are really expensive.. same as getting real or even more

I always wanted real flowers until i saw the flowers from a woman on face space. her artficial flowers are stunning and i got to thinking that i would spend much the same on ral flowers that would be dead by the end of the day. Artificial means i get to keep my bouquet forever and a table centrepiece for my living room until i get a dining room and i can give the rest as gifts or sell them on. Fake are much better quality now than they used to be xx

I'm going for artificial as I like the look and I like the idea they can be kept afterwards too xx
