Hi Everyone, hoping someone may have some suggestions or helpful tips.
I'm a B2B and my colour scheme is purple with touches of red.
I thought this would be fairly easy expecially when I heard that radiant orchid was the panetone colour for this year and also with the influx of peopel choosing cadbury purple for their wedding colour.
I wasn't keen ont he idea of using a bridal shop for the bridesmaids dresses as 2 of my bridesmaids are very specific with their style choices and unlikely to wear the dress again.

I found a dress I really liked and had 2 of the bridesmaids tried it one (1 is like me a lot curvier size 18, and it looked lovely on her and my super fussy sister size 8 really liked it suprisingly as well).

We got really excited with the idea of red underskirts and also red heels, a little bit 50s style.
Then the last bridesmaid (size 8 looks good in everything and thought I would have no problem) tried it on on she really doesn't like it and thinks it looks frumpy, not bridesmaid like and for an older person.
She also thinks red heels would look wrong and didn't even comment on the red underskirts.

We did another shopping trip this weekend, but there seems to be a real shortage of short purple dresses at the moment which is frustrating me, and now i'm getting a bit stressed and despondant.
We did try some other dresses and super frustratingly they are practically the same style as the previous dress.

Has anyone seen some short purple dresses under £100 each that come in sizes 8 - 18 in the UK.
I can't go for long as 2 of the girls are fairly short 5'3 / 5'2 so they look swamped.

We did find another dress in Monsoon that we all liked the style of but it's only in cobalt blue (and my LFC fan fiance would kill me lol)

I have suggested those twist and wrap dresses previously but 2 of the bridesmaids said they didn't look very supportive if you have slightly larger breasts.

Please help before I turn into a bridezilla, as the bridesmaid causing the problem is my oldest friend and I really want ther to be a happy bridesmaid.

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately I couldn't click on the links but couldn't see the dresses.
It's a shame that you found what you wanted but one person has now put you off - and not to sound mean but it is your wedding so surely she should wear what she is asked to if you like it.

Maybe suggest to her that she finds a style that she likes then you can try and find something you can both agree on?

Bridesmaids dresses are driving me mad too. Thought it would be a lot easier to find them.

One of my friends makes 50s style dresses, and she has just started doing bridesmaids dresses. I gave her a hand with a photoshoot not long ago and the dresses are beautiful!! If you want i can put the link on your wall so you can have a nosey?

Not able to use links sadly .

Apparently there will be a sale in Monsoon within the next month if you have a reward card with them as I was in there today and was asking about a dress and she advised me of this so keep eye out .

Where abouts are you Charlotte? I'm having purple and there's a shop in North London which does nothing but bridesmaid dresses, made to order. They have samples in the shop. I'll post you the link if you unrestricted your profile (and can get to North London).
Prices are reasonable with many under £100

LeasaD can I be cheeky and ask you to post the link to my page too?

Have also been recommended Fonthill Road in Finsbury Park - there are meant to be a row of shops that do bridesmaid/prom dresses.

I'm afraid you're not actually allowed to post links on threads, the only exception being on your own profile page. A moderator will likely come along and remove them shortly.

If you can post a picture of the dresses :)

well can't you get them to try the twist and wrap dresses on? it might be that they are able to wear a bra under it or that it is actually more supportive than they think...its worth them at least trying surely rather than just ruling them out? xx
