We were at a wedding fair a couple of months ago and entered a draw - various prizes from the company such as free kilt/suit hire, discount vouchers off outfit or dress purchases. The postman has just been and I have won £200 voucher towards the purchase of a bridal gown but I already have my dress! Should I contact them and ask to put it towards something else or is that being cheeky? What would you ladies do?

I can't imagine they would do anything. I would read the terms and conditions on the voucher. I bet it's towards the price of dress, fI'll price not to be in conjunction with any other offer etc.... depends how much the dresses are in the first place but £200 is alot. They might offer you 20% off a veil or tiara as a good will gesture. X

Thanks I'll contact them to see if I can put it towards kilt hire as I already have all my accessories to go with my dress and I've got someone making my bridesmaid dresses. Sammi, there are no T&C's on the voucher just an expiry date so may as well see what they say, I've nothing to lose I suppose.

Let us know how you get on by updating on here. Will be interesting to know. If not, maybe sell it on, even if you got £150 for it, at least you won't actually be losing anything from it.

^^^ Good post, was something I was going to suggest. Someone would be thankful for £50 or so off their wedding dress and you would still be making something from it and you will then have cash to spend as you please :) x

Hi No I haven't called yet as I've been in bed with the dreaded sickness bug since Monday and my little one had it from Saturday night through till Monday so not really felt up to dealing with anything! Will give them a call tomorrow and see what they say x

Well the company finally replied. The answer was a resounding no, I also asked if I could 'give' it to someone else to use and they said no as it has my name on it and they would ask for identification to confirm. :-(

The only thing they offered is the possibility of a small discount on kilt hire depending on how much people would be in the bridal party, they gave the impression that if it's less than 6 then they're not interested. Their customer service is not great considering they've not been open that long and are looking for business!
