    Hi ladies!

My other half is a postman, so we'll be having a proper post box at the wedding for people to put their cards through.

But as I thought on my way to work this morning of buying a Guest Book, I thought, why not create wedding postcards for them to post through the postbox during the reception?! That way more people might be inclined to write something if I leave one on each place setting and I don't need to task someone with getting the guest book signed!

What do you think? Has anyone done anything similar and how have you gone about it?

    xx

    Awww that's a brilliant idea !! I love it !
If you have table names of places you've been, you could maybe get postcards relating to each place :-)
A pen per table would probably be best too ! I've known guest book pens to go walkies !

I've seen a really cool way of making a keepsake out of all wedding cards which would work amazingly for postcards too if you'd like the link :-) xxx

    Great idea.

We made our own postcard sized cards to match the rest of the wedding stationery, and hung them on our wedding tree:

I love that idea. I know a website that you can order personally designed postcards from, I'll post it on your wall.

I actually worked at a Wedding last year in a hotel that had their own personalised postcards.
I suggested to the couple that if they didn't have a guest book that they could use the postcards??
    They loved the idea!!
We put the cards in the linen napkins for each place setting and put pens on the tables in little seaside buckets.

It looked fab and the guests loved the idea too!!!

    :-)

We put all ours into a photo album - one that had the sticky backing on so they stayed in place nicely.

    Oh, I love this idea.
Would you use self-made postcards or wanna print them? I think, different papers, some lovely stickers in 3D and a little ribbon of linen could be a matching card format for a vintage wedding. I'm much hoping, that my favorite man is quite to have for my wish....

I think, for you and your postman this is a sweet fitting gimmick. As I created the wedding brochure for my brother's wedding I was asked to create there invitations and thank-you-cards too and let print them at a manufacturer we trust (did it with such special orders her: *****************************. If you have about 50 and more guests, printed cards are better to realise. But for such a lovely idea, maybe a handmade one is better.

    Great idea! I
'm looking at a picture frame where the guests can write little messages on wooden hearts & drop them in the top. Also, I like the idea of a fingerprint tree!!

Just been reading someone's wedding planning thread and she's getting people to write a message on a card and post it in a locked box which won't be opened until the first wedding anniversary. I know I won't be able to wait that long but I thought it might be nice as a little pick-me-up when we get back from honeymoon to receive a load of postcards from people. So my idea is to buy a load of postcards in Rhodes and address them to our house and stamp them. Then at the reception people can take a postcard to write their 'guest book' message on and pop it in a postbox in the village. Then they will slowly filter through once we are home! What do you think?
