OK gang, please, please, do not give your photographer that whole list !!!!
Here's why, you should trust your photographer to find the right shots for you, use their artistic ability and experience and talent to find all the great shots. If you don't trust them to do that - then get another photographer, seriously.
What you should do is maybe pick through out and pick a FEW shots that you would really like to have.
If you give your photographer that list they are going to be working it as a checklist, so intent on the paperwork that they have lost their artistry.
So, here's my tips:
1) Pick maybe 6 max actual photos you want (the rings, your garter, you and dad hugging)
2) For your formal group shots, make sure your photographer knows which groups you want - trust me on this you'll need less thank you think.
3) Make sure your photographer knows about any very special guests (Uncle Ernie from Canada, Aunty Eve who's only got a few weeks left, your friend Jane who introduced you to H2B)
4) If you've got things like divorced parents etc, make sure your photographer knows if there is any difficulty about them being shot together. (Also what names is it Mum & Brian, Dad & Tina? Or better Betty & Brian, Tim & TIna).
Your photographer has a lot going on all at the same time, they need to be watching everyone for images worth capturing, they need to be monitoring their technical stuff, planning where they'll need to be next, making sure Grandma as ready for the next shot, reading people's moods, keeping an eye on Mum 'cos he thinks she's about to cry... You get the idea, there's a lot going on in our heads while we're shooting - if we make it look effortless it's because we work very hard at it :)
Keep it simple, keep it clear. Let your expert be your artist.

EDIT
POST DELETED PLEASE READ THE RULES..................TAKEN FROM THE RULE THREAD............
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ADVERTISING AND LINKS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Advertising of a business, product or supplier is not permitted on the UKbride forum. Only brides to be may make use of the forum with the only exception being UKbride experts. These are experts in their fields who are there to offer impartial advice to forum users. These suppliers can be identified by a badge on the forum that says “UKbride Expert”. These carefully selected experts are entitled to use real world examples drawn from their own experience to answer questions, but not to blatantly advertise their own business. For example: "We at XYZ photography generally find that most brides spend upwards to £1000 on their photography - this would be a realistic figure to put into your budget. " UKBRIDE members advertising their own business by offering FREE services is also frowned upon, if you wish to offer something for free by all means do so but no advertising your business while doing so and leave information on YOUR wall for others to see! NO links of any kind are to be posted in the forum, if you want to share something you've found, then please by all means let people know in the forum but post the link to the profile wall of those who would like to look or on your own. This is because we had people questioning why we could post some links but not others. To stop the confusion we at UKBRIDE decided ALL links would be banned in the forum.
All advertising and links will be DELETED by the moderators!
Advertising on the forum or blatant advertising on members walls or through pm is also not tolerated. This includes promoting friends/relatives businesses. Tell the person asking that you know someone then post on their wall NOT on the forum.
No names of other sites/companies/shops that do the things UKBride does will not be permitted, IE if you find another site that has the same wedding tools that we do then you may post to member's walls IF asked but do not name in the forum. Well known sites like facebook and ebay can be used in conversation but NO links to them may be used (most people use nicknames for these like bay of e and face ache, which is fine if you wish to do this if unsure). Also people RECRUITING to other site's is not tolerated and your account MAY be suspended or even deleted.

I've given my photographer 3 shots. One of me and my bms, one of h2b and the ushers, one of everybody. I haven't said one of me and h2b as I would think that's obvious!
I've picked an amazing photographer who I'm paying a lot of money for a professional job, I've thouroughly inspected his work and I trust him to take all the shots he sees fit, but I don't want my guests to have to hang around for more than 15 minutes for pictures.
If only life could be one long tea break
CommentAuthorLegoWife
There have been some people on here who've been really disappointed to have not got the pictures they wanted with certain people though. I think sending that list a bit ahead of time and not on the day is perfectly okay- especially if you've gone with a budget photographer. I think it's acceptable if you're worried about your photographer but you can't do much about it cause you can't afford an expensive one. Safer not to put in blind faith if you are concerned. That is an extreme list though lol.

@holly.... why ''especially if you've gone with a budget photographer? ''
Every wedding photographer I know, have the must haves in their head, its just the special ones that we wouldnt know about that we need on a list, Like Aunt Betty that travelled all the way from Austrailia for your wedding......we wouldnt want to miss that, so we need a reminder of things like this , but all the others......are the norm for us.
If you have gone with a friend, or someone new to photography, then yes ask for these shots, but if they are that rookey, working off a list will only confuse them more.

I say budget cause they are more likely to be inexperienced. I'm not generalising all budget photographers to not know what they're doing though.
Just saying if someone is concerned they might not get all the shots they want, better to let the photographer know if it puts your mind at ease. Though that particular list is going to get you pictures of someone else's wedding by the looks of it. I couldn't give that to my photographer cause half the shots don't apply to me!
But having a long list of must haves inspired by this list isn't bad. If the photographer would have taken them as standard anyway, then it's not really a problem. They can just pick out the ones they might have left out otherwise.

the list is not a bad one, but for instance my own wedding, there will be a LOT on that list that doesnt apply to me, I think its a general list, and you take from it what applies to you.

I dont have a shot list as such apart from capturing the details of the day aswell, when you look back on the pics, its the little details i always like to remember xx My hair (from the back aswell) the tables/room set up all pretty, the cake before it gets demolished! People are obviously going to take pride of place in my story book albums, but details i love x

I think it's better to use that list when searching for a photographer to see if they're getting those shots at every wedding they shoot. If a photographer needs that list to refer to, then they're not the right one for you.
It's better for them to be looking through the camera to capture those fleeting moments that occur for only a split second before they're gone than to be staring down, ticking off shots on a very long list.
Just hire someone who shoots the kind of photos you want and you'll both be much happier in the end.
