Hello Ladies, it has been a while since I posted. I was married last November and wanted to pop back to share some pics of our day with you and some words of advice that hopefully will help other brides to be.
(I'm having trouble with the photo uploader so will post some more photos later.)

So what advice do I have for all you ladies out there in the throws of wedding planning. Well firstly be prepared to blow your original budget. We began with a budget of what we thought was a realistic £10,000. Our final total was just under £15,000. I don't begrudge a single penny but I'm glad we didn't spend more. Set yourself a budget and allow a buffer that you both feel comfortable with.

Spend big where it matters. The venue, flowers, photographer, food and entertainment were all key for me. Save money where it doesn't matter. For example I ditched my first choice of invitations because they were going to cost me £400. I realised it was silly to spend so much on something that will ultimately end up in someone's bin. Instead I opted for some pretty and functional ones from £[email protected] for £50. The £350 I saved covered the cost of the entertainment.

It is true what they say about how you will "just know" when you find the right dress. I may not have cried when I found mine but the second I looked in the mirror and saw myself I knew. I'd tried around 30 dresses and this was the first one that was me wearing a dress and not a dress with me in it, if that makes sense. For me it was perfect in every way. So despite what your entourage may say if you have any doubts, no matter how small then listen to your gut and don't commit. When you find the one you'll have no reservations whatsoever.

Above all ENJOY YOUR DAY!! Having spent the best part of 2 years planning our wedding day I was determined I wouldn't miss any of the fun because I was being the dutiful Bride and not leaving my guests. I actually pre-warned everyone that if they wanted to talk to me they would have to join me on the dance floor. Your guests are essentially attending a free party. There is food, drink and entertainment on tap so don't feel guilty for enjoying yourself. You earned it!
