Myself and my partner are currently having a little disagreement with hiring a photographer.
The photographer i have picked i know & trust 100% his currently dropped his prices for us due to knowing me for such a long period of time and has agreed to stay for the evening to capture the first dance. All for price of £1,050 inclusive of VAT.
My partner thinks this is extremely expensive and that we should look at cheaper options for someone just to take a couple of pictures.
I personally think this is a great deal & will get my own way and book him haha.
What do you all think?

I dont think its overly expensive either. Quotes i had were £800 and above for full day coverage. X

I think that's a fairly standard quote. You probably wouldn't find someone of the same quality for much cheaper.

I've had quotes from 800-1400 so I think it is a normal price and like MrsC2B said if you know and trust the person you won't have any worries about being ripped off. Maybe you and your H2b could sit down with your friend and look at some of his work and explain why the price is what it is and that may help your H2B.
I am only having grooms arrival at church to speeches (which are going to be before the wedding breakfast) and it is 500 so a full day sounds reasonable for the price you have been quoted x

I think that's a great price and you can't put a price on capturing your special day, I think the photos are one of the most important parts and if he wants to go with someone cheaper to save money then he may regret it xx

We are not having a professional - I hope I'm not going to regret that later. We are having a close friend take our photos, he is semi-professional, and had done loads of weddings, including a few for some of our friends. He is charging us £300, so a massive saving. We will still get an album as well as the disc with all the pic on.
We will also be using W3dp1c5, so all our friends can upload their pics too.
Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

I think that's a standard price but you can find brilliant photographers for less. If you trust him I'd go for it x

Hey all,
The H2B has finally come around after seeing his work.
He threw his toys out the pram because he utterly hates photos and didn't want the hassle of having to "pose" to photos on his wedding day. But after and nice general talk over coffee with my chosen photographer he has realized that this won't be the case.
Woohoo! Haven't even booked a venue yet but photographer is booked hahaha!

Great news, glad you've managed to come to an agreement x

OH and I had a disagreement re wedding photographer- but thankfully he has come to my thinking too!
He said we should just have his sister who is not even professional- just does it as a hobby
I said that I want photos of the morning too and I know she will not want to stay in the hotel the night before or get up early and come to the hotel- I also worry that if she misses anything then it could end is disaster so I would rather not have that pressure.
I've said we can pay for one up until the wedding speeches to capture the most important parts of the day and then she can capture the evening as a compromise- she doesn't drink or dance so this will keep her entertained :-)
