So, after a long think about where to save money the first one to come to mind was the photogrpaher.

We've seen one that is AMAZING but he's £1,400 for the whole day, up until a song or two after the first dance. He's said we'll have around 800 pictures on a USB. For the amount of photos, thats brilliant money. But I dont want that many photos. I cant even think on how I'd use 800 photos. So I thought maybe I wouldnt have a photographer.
My uncle is a photographer for fun and his pictures are lovely. He'll show up to my wedding with his camera whether we ask him or not. And he took some lovely ones at my sisters wedding. My friend is also a photographer, but I'd like her to enjoy the day - though she has said she'll bring her camera and take a few snaps too (before she drinks too much). and my partners side has a photographer too whos said he'll happily take the photos for free. though I havent seen any of his photos.

I was thinking of just saying "oh sod it" and getting some disposable cameras and using the ones people take on their phones. Soemtimes they're better as they were taken when noone was looking. natural poses.
but my partner wants a photographer.

What about yourselves? are you having a photographer? do you think having one is a must, or are you not bothered? some input from brides would be lovely on this!

I would say to have a photographer, as much as its great to have friends and family who offer they can get swept up in the day and forget to take photos and then you may not have everyone you want. The same with having disposable cameras.

800 photo's may seem like a lot but they will shown you parts of the day that as a bride you may miss and they will be lovely to look back on after the day has passed.

We're considering not having a photographer. We found out about this photo app - ******** which collects all your guest pictures which we're going to use. I think as camera phones are such high quality these days it would be nice to have our family taking pictures!

I would say do have a photographer.
Maybe find a trainee or someone just starting out to take photos for you. There will be alot of parts your uncle will miss,
We have a photographer all day and night and he is only costing us £800.
If you shop around you can find some good deals x
