Hi all. We got married 6th June. The day was perfect. Most of the week it rained but on our Wedding day the sun was out and we were able to get married outside. About an hour before my bridesmaids were due to leave I had a phone call to say my car had broken down on its way to us and they were sending a replacement. The replacement was actually better than the car I had hired as it was half soft top and as the weather was great we were able to have it down. I was totally relaxed / calm and my hairdresser and makeup artist said they never seen a calmer bride. Anyway the day went like clockwork. No dramas or hiccups just the best day I could wish for. My new in-laws were taking us on our honeymoon to Gran Canaria or so we thought but they surprised us at the boarding gate and we went to Mexico the a 5* all inclusive resort. It was mind blowing. We had butlers, waiters, 3 different swimming pools, Ocean view. Stunning place. We went swimming with dolphins too.
Sadly though two days in we had a call from home to tell us my Husbands Nan died. She live with my In laws and was fine when we left her on the sunday after the wedding. I looks like she died on the Monday when we were at the airport waiting to leave .

It is such sad news, and it's always a difficult one, whether to tell someone straight away in those kind of circumstances. The wedding looks amazing though, and your husband's nan got to see him married before she passed away. I think that's the same dress that I have, except mine is champagne. Is it Alfred Angelo?

Thank you everyone. Sadly his Nan didn't get to the wedding as she was house bound. However the day after she got to see some photo's his brother and son had taken, around 200, and I took over cake, our top table arrangement, a favour box, and various other bits and pieces for her to feel part of the day. She was going to see the video when we got it once we were back.
It was a difficult choice the family had to make as to let us know or not. His Nan lived with his mum and step dad for over 20yrs and his mum was her next of kin. My inlaws took us on honeymoon and I think my MIL would have been mortified if she hadn't known for two weeks. To a degree i'm glad they did tell us as I don't think my hubby or his mum could have dealt with the shock getting the news as soon as we got home. I totally understand what you all mean by waiting though. xxx
Elinor Claire - yes my dress is an Alfred Angelio. It was comfortable to wear and as we had a warm day I didn't get hot in it either. You'll love wearing it on the day. Best wishes for your wedding day. I hope you have a perfect day.
DonnaH39 - We was about 30 mins outside Cancun. We stayed Riviera Maya. It was beautiful.
