normaly you pay a deposit on the venue and then a couple of installments.

we paid a 30% deposit, will pay 50% of the remainder 3 months before the wedding and then the final outstanding amount 2 weeks before the wedding.

I must admit, that prompted me to look at when our next payment is due and luckily its April and it all has to be paid off

    Scary thought

The caterers are 40 days before the event so thats the 19th June. A bit longer!

Mkia, i think I saw you post on another thread that you were hoping to get married july this year? The good thing is that you may be able to find a venue with a special offer on as they want to fill up their diary, BUT that said you may find that they will want more money up front as your wedding is not that far away.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!!

You can ask them if they will set up monthly instalments. Our venue was the same as the others, with deposit and then 2 further payments but they said as long as we have paid what was due by the dates they didn't mind how it was done. That sounds really complicated...

If £2k was due in 4 months then we could either pay the full £2k when it was due or split it up to £500 a month. If we had paid £400 a month then we would be short at the deadline date so would still need to top it up to meet the £2k

They were very flexible with us so might be worth asking your venue if they can do something similar

We paid a deposit and have paid 50% of the balance this week as it was due 13 weeks before, the other 50% is due 1 month before. We don't have to stick with this though we can just call the venue and pay off however much we went whenever just as long as it is paid by 1 month before the day, I'm sure you could do something like that too x
