I think you'll have to ring your venue & ask, I'd imagine if they did it for you it would be for an extra charge.

I don't think they should charge much though, considering we would be providing the covers and it's them who are making themselves unavailable if they book another wedding in the night before.

I'll be honest I'm not completely happy with how they have spoken about the situation and about how they are not confirming anything until the week of the wedding. Lots of brides to DIY things for the venue, surely they can't all be running about like fools the morning of the wedding.

They shouldn't charge much but they probably will!! That's one thing I've learnt with planning our wedding everything to do with "weddings" is a complete rip off. It would annoy me to that they can't confirm until the week of the wedding, leaving you to worry about it until then, were lucky to have sole use of our venue from fri-sun.

Are your other bridesmaids or family members willing to help on the wedding morning if need be?
Do you have many chairs to do?

My other bridesmaids will help out, so there will be 4 of us. Which should be enough. But it's just depending on what time we can get into the venue as well, as with the 12.30 ceremony I don't know how early the hairdresser will want to get to mums. I think we'll be wanting to leave my mums house at around 12... 10 past 12 and it would be nice to get some photo's with the vans first. (Not sure where we'd do this actually if my mums still in her current house, might ask them to drive somewhere else so we can have some pictures taken before we go to the Church. Or be cheeky and have a couple taken before going into the Church.

About to order my glasses for bridesmaids and don't know whether to go for Champagne glasses or wine glasses....

I honestly don't think you'll be able to fit it in on the day, getting 4 people ready, hair & make up, getting dressed, etc will be at least 2-3 hours.
We were originally going to fit our own covers & sashes but were told to allow 5 mins per chair, we needed 100, so you'd need to allow for that plus travelling time.
Does your bridesmaid that's supplying them usually have help for other events? It might be easier paying their helpers to do it for you.

I'm hoping that it will be a night before job to be honest. But we shall see.

If not then we'll have to just do what we can, she might be able to rope her sister in law into doing it or us, but not sure if she drives :/

I think it's just something I need to forget about for now, as there's no point worrying about it until we know whether it's going to actually be an issue or not.

I'm not sure if she has help, I think she sometimes does it on her own as she has only started her business more recently. We only need 50 (probably less than) chairs covered as well.

Just ordered some personalised glasses for our bridesmaids and ourselves. Can't wait to see what they look like when they're done. They're hand painted so she said it can take up to 2 months. Thought I'd get them done now so if there are any problems with them we have time to get them sorted.

Will have to hold off on ordering anything else wedding wise until next payday I think though... as quite a bit of money has come out of the account this month now... whoops

My R.S.V.P date is in May, as my venue want final numbers 2 months before the date (so early June.)

I've decided I want a guitarist and singer for the ceremony and have found an amazing one. Messaged him and a few other people, but would love him... he only lives down the road from us as well... he is amazing though and seems quite busy so I'll be very surprised if he is available, so don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Musicians are really expensive, we are spending a fortune on music...

we have a violinist for the wedding breakfast, a five piece band and now I'm considering this.

He is available :D he's quoted me £225 for the ceremony and people arriving.... possibly £285 to also do arrival drinks, but I'm awaiting on his reply as to whether our venue is too far out for him to honour that

So happy, I'm def getting a guitarist... but possibly not that one.

Been speaking to someone who one of my music teacher friends used to teach, not my bridesmaid-the other one. Anyway he sounds great, but he stopped messaging when I asked what he wanted for doing it.... so going to wait a bit and message him again if he doesn't reply.

Also started writing out our invites... done all the day one's. Planning on doing the evening one's tonight as well so they're all done and ready to post during the week.

I sent the venue a message last night about timings and about a tasting session. Apparently they're putting a tasting session together in March so we will probably be going to that one.

I've also asked her opinion on the magician. I know it's all personal opinion and I've said that to her, but she'll have a better idea of how weddings pan out, especially there. The magician we know has quoted £100 for an hour.

Also what are you all doing first dance wise, are you keeping it quiet until the day? or letting people know?

We have also decided on signing the register songs, but might let people know what they are.

    I'm having....

Opening after welcome - come to a wedding. It's to the tune of morning has broken. I love the last verse. It's thanking people for coming and asking for their prayer and support through the day and our wedding
After vows - will you let me be your servant. To me it's a hymn that will feel like we''re singing it to each other and is an extended promise to be there for each other so appropriate for then
Then after the blessing - lead us Heavenly Father lead us. Again extension of the blessing.

Well that's if I can fight my vicar to let me have 3. He only typically does 2. I don't know which I'd get rid of. I love all 3. I worship through music so this was really important to me

I would love to sing them again :)

We're favouring the same hymns as you Donna although I think were having 2, everyone knows the words so theirs no excuse for not joining in. There's nothing worse then having a packed church but the only person singing is the vicar, as no one else knows the words.

I guess I’m lucky in that respect. I have a choir of 40 so an empty church isn’t an option for me. but may have picked differently if I had known
I only picked different because of my worship style so the hymns have to be very serious. If not then they can be very odd sometimes. I’ve sung at weddings and thought why would you choose these hymns but all of them are lovely. All about new beginnings, joining together and affirming your faith as a couple

Readings I haven’t thought about yet. I struggle with these so may get the mothers to sit down and pick a gospel and either an old testament or poem each and then we pick one from each of them. Have you decided on yours?

Right, we have decided on a guitarist...

For a couple of reasons-we've had a couple of family issues so don't want to be relying on family

Plus originally we decided we wanted an acoustic guitarist, the singer was sort of forced on us. He's happy for payment on the day as well, which is great as it means we can take it out of the account when we don't have as much other stuff coming out and just ask fiancé's parents to look after the cash to hand over to him.

    Just the ceremony.

We won't have any live music at the drinks reception unless the venue have someone playing their piano... but that will be something I will talk to them about much closer to the time.

We have a lot of live music apparently (we don't think it's that much but everyone else seems to think so) as we have an electric violinist playing during the wedding breakfast and a live 5 piece band for the evening reception. I wouldn't get rid of any of them though as I think they're all different but will compliment each other and I am really looking forward to each one.
