Right, so I am giving in and doing one of these bad boys!!!

We are almost.... well I say almost-about 3 weeks away, from our 6 month count down.

We have pretty much everything sorted

Our Church deposit is paid, we just need to confirm how much it will be as we booked last year so they couldn't give us this years prices
Our venue-deposit is paid, we have gone for a gorgeous old Stately home-I am so in love with it. It was the first venue we looked at and I knew we HAD to book it. Oh was sold as soon as he saw the ballroom, he turned to me and said ''it's like beauty and the beast''
We have booked a Violinist for the wedding breakfast
Band is booked for the evening
We have two camper vans taking us to the Church and then onto the venue
My bridesmaid is sorting the chair covers, which makes me a little nervous as we won't know until the week of the wedding whether she can get in the night before or not
Bridesmaid dresses arrived this week, just need to wait for them to come so they can try them on.
My dress is ordered and deposit paid... I am so in love with it
Suits are ordered-we are hiring them
Table centres are being done by the lady we are getting our Candy cart for the evening from
Flowers are on order-we have gone artificial as I don't want to worry about having to get them in the morning or them wilting during the day
I have my ring and we hopefully have oh's as well-it's his dads old one but it needs to be resized, we're still waiting on whether it can be done or not
My friend is doing the cake
    My sister is the photographer
I have my shoes, I went with irregular choice
Our honeymoon is booked-two weeks gourmet all inclusive in Mexico, I cannot wait
    Hair and make-up is booked
We have also booked digital camera's to go on the tables instead of disposables.

We are in the process of sorting

Gifts for people-we have glasses for the MOTB and MOTG but want some for others as well.
    Jewellery for the bridesmaids
Favours, we have the boxes-waiting to see Cadbury hereos on a decent offer with a decent date on them

I still need to book or order
Pork pie wedding cake for the evening buffet
bubbles to go on the tables
hair accessories for myself (bridesmaids are having flower clips made by the lady who is doing the flowers)
Church decorations and maybe something to go either side of the top table

    Have I forgotten anything?

Oh our colour scheme is Cadbury purple and yellow-which is where the Cadbury caramel comes into it ;) originally we were just going to buy mini caramels and dairy milks for favours, but decided since we're having purple boxes tied up with yellow ribbon to put them in we might as well just buy the hereo's and put a mix in the boxes, people can swap them around if they get one's they don't like in them.

I'd forgotten shoes for my fiancé and my little boy, fiancé bought his today though and we'll buy little one's closer to the time.

We also have purple and yellow rose petals to scatter on the tables instead of little crystals.... I might buy some little crystals as well... or do you think that would be too much?

I can't wait to see everything all come together :) should be arranging our 6 month meet with the venue soon. Not sure whether to contact them before to book it as soon as, I've read our contract and we need to pay the second deposit at 6 months (or within 10 days) the plan is to pay by cheque at the 6 month meeting-but will they count the payment as being made when they get the cheque or when it clears?

Haha-I know, I'm dreading May when things start really wanting paying. I think the honeymoon wants to be paid up by then so I'm going to transfer a big chunk of money and pay that off-along with other big things like the band.

We need to decide if we are going to have the bells rung at the Church as well. I would love them, but they cost £140 which is quite a lot of money that could go towards something else....

Thank you, we had a change of colour scheme early last year-I wanted emerald green and when we booked the suits they didn't have it, so we went for forest green as it was the closest to emerald. I started really worrying about how bridesmaid dresses would look and how it was a very dark colour and not really a summer one. I wanted to change it to yellow, but my fiancé wasn't keen on just yellow, so we settled on purple and yellow. I'm really glad now, I think the colours go lovely together.

and I love the heroes as favours. It's going to be a good price but I think it's a fab idea as well. Also looking forward to seeing how the boxes look all tied up with the ribbon. We've also decided to double them up as place settings, so we'll be getting little gift tags to put on them :)

Oh I forgot to mention as well, we had a lady from the ring company called **ooch back in December. We thought we were going to get the rings from them, but for various reasons didn't (I ended up getting a bridal set as my engagement ring had lost a stone and while we were out looking for wedding rings I fell in love with the set) but have since noticed other things that have made us glad we didn't order from them. Like the lady said we could not have other halfs ring resized due to the pattern, she failed to mention the ring he was looking at getting from them instead could not be resized due to the metal AND then when we took his ring (which has sentimental value to him) to be sold, we luckily explained to the man why we were selling and he told us that we would not get anywhere near what it was worth to sell it BUT he could see no reason why it could not be resized. So obviously we are very upset with them and glad we didn't go ahead and spend a lot of money getting our rings from them.

Anyway, they offer free gifts for just having them round, I felt cheeky at first for emailing and saying we weren't ordering but wanted the gifts-but glad we did after we found out about his ring. The gifts arrived today :) so our bridesmaids have a necklace and a set of earrings each :) I only have two bridesmaids, old school friends of mine.

I know, I keep thinking that about the budget. I'm very very sure it has been worked out right though lol.

If anything we should have more money then planned as my future in laws have kindly offered to pay for certain things, like the suits and a bit towards the venue fee's ect. My parents have also contributed but they told us straight away what we were getting so that's all been budgeted in with our money.

I know, I was panicking the other day saying we hadn't really budgeted for honeymoon spending money.... but I'm hoping we'll have some left over and we will have that months wages as well really as won't be spending on much else. Also going to ask for money towards honeymoon if people want to give it as a wedding present, not expecting loads off people but every little helps.

We wouldn't dream of spending money like this on anything else lol-it's scary... but so exciting. I think if you can't splash out on your wedding and honeymoon, when can you?

I think they're lovely. You could have best man cufflinks, which are literally just those cufflinks that say best man, a bracelet which if I remember rightly was like a pearly type beaded bracelet, stud earrings (like diamonds but obviously now lol) or little silver chains with hearts on, you can mix any 4 up as well. We thought about getting 4 of the necklaces and giving one each to our mums, but we didn't think they would actually really wear them, as both our mums are fussy with jewellery. So we thought earrings and a necklace for the bridesmaids. I'd say it's probably worth booking for the freebies, you never know you might even find some rings...

I've also been sorting presents for my fiancé today.

He was originally going to just get a pocket watch...

But he is being spoilt, I have got him a sword shaped letter opener (bit of a personal joke between us and friends since before we got engaged) I was going to just give him that at the wedding breakfast and the pocket watch (which I haven't bought yet as struggling to find the right one) in the morning. But I have been thinking more about a grooms box and I quite like the idea, so I am going to put the pocket watch and a few other little silly things in there, like a pack of mints and a miniature whiskey... I also ordered him a book of ''don't for husbands'' to go in there.

It's a little awkward at the moment though, as it's his birthday next month so I'm trying to sort his presents for that too. So far he has a body shop set, a jumper (which I ordered on boxing day and then yesterday he pointed it out in the shop so that was fab), I've ordered him the wit and wisdom of Tyrion Lannister... I had ordered him a waistcoat but got an email saying it was out of stock :/ so that's a bit rubbish. Not sure what else to get him for his Birthday...

I've ordered a small tiara and something to go in the back of my hair, not sure if I'll use both or even one of them... but thought I might as well get them as they were on a good deal. I can take them to my hair trial and play about and see what we all prefer.

I do def want to wear a veil, but obviously that will come out after having some photo's in it.

I spoke to the lady at the bridal shop where I'm getting my dress and told her I've seen a headpiece by ivory & co that I love and she's ordering it in for me so it will be there when I go back in March. I'm also having a veil but there are 2 I like and I need to decide which one I want. Will be trying them both on again with the dress and headpiece in March so will decide then :)

Hmmm-considering what to get oh for the wedding day

The plan was, scrap book (which he would possibly get the night before) with pictures and other bits in which are meaninful to the two of us and our relationship.

Then a groomsbox for the morning with a miniature of whiskey, some mints, a book on don'ts for husbands, personalised boxers, possibly socks and a pocket watch and anything else I find along the way

Then during the speeches I have a sword shaped letter opener to give to him

Now I'm really unsure as I have now seen a replica of the masters pocket watch from doctor who, he loves doctor who, especially the 10th doctor and we both love the master, so it seems appropriate, however I was thinking of getting him an engraved pocket watch and I don't think there is anywhere that can be engraved :/

Although I suppose there is always something to do, I'm even at the point I'm wishing we booked earlier in the Summer holidays as we have 3 weeks to wait after breaking up from school to the wedding... oh says that's a good thing but I am not completely convinced ;)

I think I'll be better once winter is over with, when the weathers nicer it will feel like we are actually getting married this year...whereas with the weather like this it still feels like ages away. Although I am hoping for plenty of snow tonight so we can have a snow day tomorrow ;)

I think I've pretty much decided I want to ask my friend to be a third bridesmaid. However, my other two bridesmaids have been bridesmaids since we got engaged. They both live away from me and I wasn't as close to this other friend then..... well I wasn't close at all to be honest-we worked together but never spent any time outside of work together. Since then we have started going out and I would say she is one of my closest friend, def my closest friend who lives in the area.

However, I don't want to upset my other bridesmaids and don't know if my fiancé will agree to it either, as he will think of the cost :/

He just said about making sure we can get the extra bits for her that we only have two of, like the necklaces and earrings, but when I said I'd already found a similar necklace he said the earrings would be easy to find :)

I managed to speak to one of my bridesmaids and she is happy with whatever I decide, I haven't got hold of the other one to ask her yet, but I am going to try and ask my friend when we go for food or something one day so it's a bit more special, so I have time to ask her before that happens.

I need to dig out what I already have, but was hoping to hold off until May-ish... looks like I might be doing it before as I can't stop looking haha.

So happy, we found usher aftershave online... :D

I saw it a while back and thought it would be a good joke present for the ushers, but then couldn't find it again-so we've bought some. Just a silly thing to go in their gift bags, and hopefully it will smell nice as well ;)

Also my bridesmaids have been messaging me about my hen, I'm going to get a letter about a week before with a list of things I may or may not need, then I will find out the night before what is actually happening. I am so excited!!!! Bring on May

Both my ladies have said they don't mind me asking my third friend.... we're going shopping and for lunch next Saturday so I'm going to try and hold off and ask her then.

I'm not completely convinced she'll say yes, so a bit nervous. But I don't mind either way, if she doesn't feel comfortable and says no at least I asked her, whereas if she want to then that's great :)

That's great that no one has an issue with it. Fingers crossed she says yes, I bet she will x
