So we are getting married early next year. I ordered my dress last week after weeks of searching for "the one". And yesterday I found out I'm pregnant (not planned!). I'll be about 7 months on the day. No chance of postponing the wedding, as the venue, photographer and musician are booked. Thankfully we hadn't yet booked the honeymoon! I guess I need to see what happens and accept that I probably won't get to keep my dress :(

Is it not a style that could be altered to fit?
If not contact bridal shop asap, explain and see if you can change the style.

    Congrats -

I would contact the shop straight away and see what they can do- they may not have sent off for it or they may let you exchange it as if thry haven't done any alterations on it yet that can resell and not lose money :-)

    Congrats!!!

I would contact the bridal shop asap too. Sometimes they hold back orders so that they can order a batch of them together (so ive heard)

Can your dress be altered to your bump of do you need a completely different shape/style dress x

Congrats on both counts! (Finding The Dress and being pregnant!)

As it's really early, you can probably contact the shop and get them to alter it - they typically can add a few inches in a hurry, but you're giving them a few months and they know what to expect so they can add panels etc.... or if that would totally spoil the dress it should be early enough for them to change it for you. If it's truly "The One", then you could take it to a tailor to see what alterations could be done to try to keep it as similar as possible.

Congratulations. Bridal shops are well used to dealing with pregnant brides, I'm sure they can help you. If it's only been a week or so since the order I wouldn't imagine that the dress has been made yet, so the shop could request a bigger size, or extra material at least. Assuming that they do they're alterations, they can leave your fittings as late as they can get away with, so that they can adapt the dress to cope with the bump when there isn't time for it to grow much more before the wedding.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
