So here's the most ridiculous question ever but as I am in the process of looking for stamps for our invites and save the dates I think I need to ask it. I want a custom stamp made for our invites and STD (it will also later be used on other wedding day stationary), it will be simple just our initials and the date of our wedding, but I'm not sure of protocol regarding the use of our names and initials on any stationary. Is it his name first or mine? And do we use our legal name or the name we are known by? or does it not matter in the slightest?

Id say female name first. It's probably better to use your legal name but depends how formal you want to be.

I didn't know there was a protocol for this... X

I would say your initial first, but why not just your first initial? If using both I would use your initials that are now, not what will be for the invites, but if you are using some for the actual wedding, how about getting a mixture made up with both your maiden and married initials.

I never use my full name every one knows me as Becky and I find it really strange when people use my proper name so I was thinking about getting B & M 31.12.17 in the middle of a snowflake, thing is I can't help but think of a certain bargain store when I say it in my head, but M & B just doesn't sound right lol. Still looking for the perfect design atm so have time to think about it, but MOH and I are going to start making the STD and Invites soon (have about 80 of each to make and they're fiddly so we plan to just make a couple at a time whilst having our weekly girls night) so can't leave it too long.

My name has been first on everything we have done. When we did our invites we were told that was the right way to do it.

if it was me i would use initials, so go for the B & M, i wouldn't worry what it sounds like, most people will just think its your initials :)

I would put my own name/initials first if I put his first it would be A&E lol not going to happen so its E&A, no one will even think of the bargain store with your invites x
