I just had an email from the venue that i had fallen in love with..... the rooms that we had chosen have been destroyed in an arson attack. i am so upset. i had taken since we got engaged to finally choose this venue and it was perfect!! Apparently they are setting up a semi permanent structure but it wont look anything like the tudor barns and high beamed gallery i had picked for my gothic cinderella theme.... i know i have ages to look for another venue but in my hunt for this one i searched for like 10 months and this was the only thing that came within budget and i adored. i would try for a gothic church but h2b refuses to get married in a church.

apparently the plans to rebuild will be put through in the next 6 months and then it could take a year to rebuild it in a similar way. i dont think it would be ready in time :-(

no idea. they arrested 2 men on suspicion of it but i havent heard anything more. i know a marquee wouldnt be the end of the world it's only a venue at the end of the day it's who's there and what were doing that counts but meh.... i wanted to to be perfect :-(

What I want to call the people who done that can't be written on here, it would be too offensive!!!! I am sooo sorry for you, it was a stunning room. You can replicate the tables and decor, I wonder if there is anyway of getting the walls and ceiling of a marque to look like that room, like some projectors discreetly placed, something like that, maybe someone could come up with some ingenuous idea. I know it wouldn't be the real thing, but it may an affordable alternative.

This is awful! What exactly did they get out of burning it down? Hopefully they will find them and they will be punished. But my mum always says to me that everything happens for a reason and what is meant to be will be. So maybe you will find somewhere even better now! Have a look on some photographers websites. They may have photos of places that arent well known as wedding venues because they are just starting up, this is how I found somewhere for my best friend to get married and it is truly stunning! But its not well known as it has only been doing weddings for a year. Fingers crossed you will find somewhere even better hun! xxx

i think it's brill! it's sooo different and i completely forgot they started holding weddings there i dunno why i didnt think of it before! haha! this cheered me up a lot! and it has a lot of meaning to me too as i have some brill memories of my dad spray painting a spitfire for them and i was allowed to sit in the cockpit while he did the wings :-) i must have only been about 4 haha 20 years ago
