Sorry I didn't reply. Yes I love it, really quick workout that really helps, I've gone from not being able to do 20 crunches to doing 200 in a few days. Xx

Elinor - I will look into that! I don't want to lose too much weight as I am currently 8 stone 11 and am 5'4 so only really want to lose another 5lbs or so, it was toning I mostly wanted to do as I used to be a dancer but had to stop 3 years ago due to injury so I now have lots of flabby bits that never used to be flabby! But I won't be able to do any toning for a good few months as yet, just hoping I will be able to do enough in the couple of months I do have! Plus my dress is a zip back so whatever I am at my final fitting I will have to stay like to make sure the dress fits on the day! So I only have up until July to get where I want to be! Xx

Mrs Henderson to be - I am also using the app and it definitely works. It tracks your weightloss, calories and exercise. You can also see if there is a pattern to the yoyo effect. We all need to keep going. It will definitely get easier as the warmer weather approaches.

    Hi everyone,

I'm struggling at the moment, I lost over 2 stone a couple of years ago and managed to keep it off, all using slimming world. I ran a marathon last year and changed from the injection to the pill and I gained a stone... that on top of Christmas and I have at least half a stone to loose, but I would like to try and get back down to my weight before, which would mean loosing just over a stone.

I just can't seem to get my head in it though, I'll have very good days and then something will come up, either plans with friends or fiancé will decide he wants pizza or a meal out and I just don't seem to have the self control I used to, I know I have plenty of time between now and the wedding, like fiancé keeps pointing out we have another Christmas between now and then.... but my point is more yeah so I don't want an extra few stone to lose on top of the one I already have to

I know the feeling DonnaH39, getting OH to buy into my healthy eating and exercise was tough!!
He supported me and wanted me to lose the weight but he caved all the time and got take away or I'd end up having to make one meal with chips and then mine with salad and it made me so jealous!!

The one piece of advice I can give that changed it all for me was not to restrict myself too much, like.. I love potatoes and cheese -especially together!! - and I know they are bad for me but in moderation they are fine. Also, chocolate/cakes/crisps, whatever your vice is, you don't have to tell yourself you CAN'T have them ever. That's too depressing and immediately puts you on a track to fail. But once a week or very much in moderation, or the healthy option (baked crisps, non-cream cakes, dark chocolate etc etc) is fine in my opinion! No one can be good 100% of the time and remember to allow yourself to hav a treat every so often.
If you love pizza, have one or two slices with a big portion of leafy salad which will fill you up, for example.
It'll become second nature to make healthier choices but it is hard at first.

I lost 3 stone last year and have just managed to get off the half a stone I put on in November and December just through eating more sensible and exercising more. No supplements and no crash dieting, just a year of slow and steady loss.

Also, we are here for you all the way!!!

    Xxx

So, after a good week and what can only be described as a dodgy week I have still lost over the 2nd 2 week period another inch and a half. Taking my monthly total up to 4 and a half inches lost.

Here's to the next 2 weeks before I measure myself again. Must have a better 2 weeks to make up for this week lol!!

    Crawf, well done!!

What have you ladies been having for lunch? I am starting to get a little bored of my salads but don't want to go back to what I was having for lunch as I don't want to put my inches back on! Need some ideas! I only have two 20 mins breaks at work so it needs to be fairly quick to eat too. Thanks.

What do you all do for lunches when at work, I'm starting to get a bit stuck on them. I sometimes bring my leftovers from tea the night before, but don't always have anything

Can I join this thread, I'm really struggling with my weight I see something I eat it I don't necessary want it but I'll eat it.

I'm having a pretty tough time just now almost two years ago I almost dies and with being depressed my weight soared to 14+ stone and heading for a size 20 it was a kick up the backside I needed and I almost lost two stone but since then I've out a stone back on and I'm struggling with the reality that the chances of having any more babies are very slim hence the eating what I want.

I don't exercise but I know I really should we have a cross trainer and treadmill in the house so really no excuse.

I weigh myself on a Monday but not sure that's such a good idea and was thinking about swapping to a Friday that way if I have a crazy weekend I have the whole week to be good if that makes sense.

    Xx

Hi Elizabeth. It might be worth chatting to your G.P. For one thing you could get a referral to a dietician that will help you get a healthy eating plan that you can stick to. Also it sounds like you're comfort eating and are maybe still a bit depressed, so your G.P. could help you with that. Just be careful with anti-depressants, as some people find that their weight balloons on them. I'm following the NHS weight loss plan which you can download from the website, and that has Sunday night as weighing night, which I find really helpful as it means I'm less likely to abandon the diet over the weekend. I think that before I did that it was the weekends that were stopping me from losing weight. I was dieting and exercising during the week, but then at the weekend not being so careful and undoing the good work. I wasn't gaining but I wasn't losing either. On the weeks where I've watched my eating at the weekend I've lost weight, on the weeks when I haven't I've stayed the same.

I have been seeing the gp, I have some sort of depression it doesn't affect me every day but I do have bad days, I. Don't need anti depressants I just need to get passed the horrible event anniversary and I should be back on track.

She won't refer me to the dietician as she thinks I can do it myself, normally I'm determined but I just can't get in the zone to lose weight. I've decided that I'm not buying any junk for ds or oh as it's too tempting if it's. To there I can't eat it.

When I lost the last time I was following WW so might just try that again and see how I go and do some exercise. I'm going to have a look at the nhs weight loss plan too.

Finally plucked up the courage to weigh myself this morning after falling off the wagon over the past 3/4 months due to moving/Christmas/family sress etc.
Gutted to say that I've put about 6 lbs on. Feel so annoyed with myself as I'd lost almost 2 stone and now I feel like I've taken a major step back!
have re-joined a gym but am worried that I just won't feel confident on the day :-( xxx

It is a hard journey losing weight! But keep at it if you are trying!

I have lost just over 4 n a half stone so far (started a year n half ago) I am to be a size 12 by the wedding next May but so far I feel so much better in myself and I know it is so worth it!! It has changed my life so my advice.... Workout and eat healthy! That's all it takes!! If you don't like working out get a gym buddy as it will keep you motivated!

We don't actually have scales at home (need to buy some) measuring tape so not sure if I have lost much but people say I have (I wasn't really big in the first place; my stomach was the worse area) :S

Today have been for my first ride on my bike for 2 hours. Rode an hour to one of our potential venues; walked around for n hour then cycled an hour back; rested for an hour then went to work for 4 hours (it's half term so mega rushing around) so think I did quite well although I was knackered for work ;P

But a calories website thinks I burnt about 1200 cals in this time in terms of cycling and only had a nutri-grain and squash so burnt them off :)

Have been off week this week and has meant I have had the chance to do some proper cooking!
Made chicken stroganoff and Jambalaya so far this week. Both have been new dishes I have tried and generally fairly healthy too.

Off out for an Indian tonight (not so healthy!) with H2b's parents before they go away on holiday.

Have been sticking to my calorie intake but haven't been eating as well as previous weeks (I blame half term!)

My next measurement will probably be tomorrow as that's when I try my actual dress on for the first time :) Won't be overly surprised if I haven't lost any more inches though. I just hope I wont have put on.

For everyone who exercises - it's more accurate to use tape measure to monitor your progress than to use a scale.
When your muscles are building they make up for the fat you loose :) However a pound of muscle is 4 times smaller than a pound of fat - just so you're not worried you will get big :))

So tape measure will tell you everything the scale won't.
