I recently went to a wedding and they had a toiletry baskets full, I thought it was a lovely idea and just wanted to know if anybody else was doing this at there wedding and if they think it works well, just wondered what everyone would put in it or if anybody has any photos of what there's looked like.
Thanks you xxx

I am going to be doing this. We're having a church hall wedding, so I'm sprucing the place up as much as possible. I'm lucky that I work with a lot of really good beauty brands so I can get things cheaper but I will be providing my own had wash and hand cream, perfume samples, deodorant, tampons, plasters, a couple of combs, hair pins, hair spray and other bits that I pick up along these lines. I may do a simple one in the mens.
and looooooooooooooooooooooooooads of other stuff i'll take a pic and put it on tomorrow

That's mine. I've filled it with:
Safety pins sewing kit pain killers plasters wet wipes deodrant mints hairspray nail file clear nail varnish kirby grips scissors lint roller mini perfumes moisturiser
yep all that in that basket!
Not doing one for men. Decided I couldn't be bothered! lol.
CommentAuthorJoanna
Wow, there's everything in that basket! And it looks pretty. Do your venues not mind you making these then? xxx

Thanks! Have a little sign (a spare place card) that will say something about freshening up!
No they don't mind, don't see why they would really.
CommentAuthorJoanna
I don't see why they would either lol i just know some venues are a bit funny about what you can and can't have. I think it's a great idea xxx

My venue has moisturisers and deodorant already in their toilets but I'm thinking of adding to it, these ideas are awesome, I think it is such a nice touch to show you care!
22-09-2012 I marry my best friend.
CommentAuthorroberta90
So do you just pop these in the toilets for everyone to use? x
CommentAuthorsprucey83
Oh i'd never thought of these before! Given where i work this should be a piece of p to put together! Men will prob just want gel, gum and condoms for the single ones i'd imagine! lol
xx
CommentAuthorKate4
My basket was from Store 21. Think it was £3.. I'm using the same ribbon and buttons on other stuff too so it's all matching.
Yeah i'm putting them in the ladies in our venue. I've not seen them at a wedding myself but got the idea from someone on here a while ago. It's so annoying when you break a nail, snag tights etc that thought it'd be handy for the ladies. And our wedding is at 1pm in the same venue so it's a looong day for day guests!
CommentAuthorlows
My mum was nagging about the ladies loos at our venue as she says it lets our venue down!! I was just going to buy some m0lt0n br0wn hand cream and put some flowers in their but might look into getting a little basket together, I already have baskets which i use for my christmas hampers so this should be easy enough to do. Where have you bought all the bits to go inside and how much has this all cost as i dont want to waste money if i dont have to. xx
CommentAuthorOWB
I was wondering about condoms, then I had a think about the single men in our party - to be honest, they're not likely to need them :-/
I'm also putting reed diffusers in ours in the same scent that our candles will be in the church and reception room.
If only life could be one long tea break

This thread is one of the many that makes me wonder how much more I have to plan that I just hadn't thought of :0( I will be putting little bunches of flowers in the toilets to match the wedding bouquets but hadn't thought of anything like this... oh well, at least there is plenty time left for me to get to grips with it all! xx

I agree sounds good to me but maybe a lint roller. I think they're so useful! I have one in my car, my office desk, and my handbag!

Brilliant idea! Will definitely be asking venue if we can do this - bookmarked!!
CommentAuthorGoldiepostie
I'd love to do this kind of thing, but my venue is a massive hotel and the toilets aren't specifically for me and my guests to use! Don't just want everyone using/taking the bits i put in there for wedding guests!!
The toilets have nice hand wash and cream in them anyway, but i love this personal touch!
For me it's all in the detail! xx

I would love to do a little basket for the ladies. Will have to check it is ok with the venue first but even if I buy some stuff I can always use it myself. I love all the little touches that at first seem trivial but are so appreciated.

Exactly, is such a good idea. If you were at a wedding and saw that in the loo you'd think wow, they've gone to such effort for the guests!

I'm trying to think of as many little surprises like this as possible. We're marrying a year after bil (who we don't really get on with) and I want ours to be better and more thoughtful! hahaha!
CommentAuthorRoxy
Hehe I thought that was prob case, pain killers are were the first thing I bought! Maybe try H&M for lint rollers :)
CommentAuthorRoxy
Oh I also bought three emergency pairs of skin coloured tights from Primani for £1. They are individually packed and a bargain :) Nothing worse than a ladder :(
CommentAuthorSammi_with_camera
My Mum doesnt see that this is neccessary at all, but then I strongly disagree, I was at a wedding last year and i noticed that the girl sititng next to me at the table had a strap that was coming away on her dress. It was literally hanging on by a thread and it was a thich strap. I got a sewing kit from the hotel and proceeded to sew her dress for her inbetween courses! As i had made the cake and was taking pictures i was then known as the wonder women! lol
I think the baskets are a lovely idea and I will having one :-)
Tights, brilliant idea!
CommentAuthorMrsE 2b
Oh this is such a wonderful idea. The loos at my reception place are just awful - really let the place down. This is a brilliant idea to spruce them up! I might add potpourri and some flowers too! Thanks ladies x
CommentAuthorJoanna
Roxy's idea is a good one. I've seen them, there's 3 in a pack but they're individually wrapped in small packets that fit in your handbag. Brilliant idea. I always manage to rip my tights so i'd appreciate these xxx
