You can't cancel..... I won't let you! Theres 9-10 weeks in which to rob a few banks. Though not sure which of us would be the getaway driver as neither of us drive! Maybe a getaway bicycle! xx

I know its odd, evert solicitor i have phoned have mentioned it, including the one you gave me their number for.
for an extra £5 though i would rather do it just incase i do need it.

heidi, it's a lovely gesture from his dad. he wants you to get married too!!!! i would take it and then pay him back asap (after the wedding obviously)

on the travel insurance...which bank are you with?? you could upgrade your account and most of them have travel insurance. i know ltsb have got a silver account which everyone is eligible for, which covers you and a partner for european holidays. i used to work in that department, so i know it inside out lol the account are really cheap and you can cancel it when you come home!!

affidavits

everything else is not needed and frilly bits lol

iim gonna do a wee search on the affidavits for you too

Ive spoke to my H2B and we are guna take his step dad up on his offer, it wont take us long to pay him back afterwards anyway.
That £500 will help us out soo much, and still determind to find a cheaper affidait, if not that £500 will pay that and our ceremony :)

i have phoned a solicitor in plymouth and they can sign it for £5 each.

all you have to do is prepare the affidavit yourself and print it out

they also said if it isn't printed out, it will be £20 each for them to print it

the stamp HAS to say solicitor on it , or it won't be accepted. also, it MUST say solicitor

you go in with the paperwork and you swear on a bible that it is the truth, then the solicitor signs and stamps it

there's 90quid saved already!!!!!

The solicitors did say to me if its already prepared then they will swear it at £5 each, but they said i have to have it prepaired by a solicitor in the first place..

So glad to hear the happy news that your FIL2B is so kind & the wedding is still on

I know that we can print them off ourselves & just pop into a solicitors & get them signed, they even gave us a sample copy with the wedding contract!

ohhh but my wedding planner told me that it has to be on solicitors headed paper with a solicitors stamp also

Yes i agree, the solicitors make them sound sooo expensive, when they dont need to be!
Instead of paying £100+ for it to be prepaired i can prepare it and print if off at the library for 20p hahahaha

Will any solicitor let you do your own instead of paying them to do it?

Gemma by the sounds of it, you would have to let the solicitor know on the phone when making the appointment that you have your own printed copy, as long as they say that is ok and give you a price of £5 or thereabouts each, I assume that would be fine.

Well I decided to get a long veil yesterday, but today someone on here offered me a gorgeous wrap/shawl for free so I'll see what that's like with my dress and go from there :)

Finally things are starting to fall into place and I'm over the moon I don't have to cancel the wedding :)
