Hope you find a cheap deal like i did bridetobe2013, It depends what time of year you go though, so bear that in mind..
Our 2 week holiday for 2 of us is costing £965 in may, whereas if we booked july like we were originally going to it would of been sooooo much more expensive :(

we've done everything ourselves. i contacted the peyia town hall directly and they have booked my day and time with no deposit. i have to go up with our two witnesses and our paperwork a fews days before to sign stuff and pay the fee.

i've got the number for a photographer, reception venue (very popular for weddings), car hire company and a cake maker. the cake maker has been recommended to me by lots of people and even the photographer. she's won awards over there

i can give you their details if you like?? lots of places have fb pages as well as websites, which i find easier to communicate with.

there are a few florists and even a suit hire company over there too. there is even a piper who can play at your wedding!!

you can do it yourself, but it can take a while to research everything yourself. i would've been lost without ukbride!!!!

if you want it to be as stress free as possible, you can pay a wedding planner. there are lots over there and it's really your choice where you want to go. a lot of them have similar prices and packages, so i'd play them off each other a bit :)

we've rented a 3 bed villa through a villa owner's website and bought flights seperately. the villa owners are doing our wedding bbq at the villa after the ceremony for a good price

Thank you for this reply, it has helped me out a lot, do you no of any hairdresses or makeup ladies local that your going to be using? I have been in touch with a company called my perfect cyprus wedding and they said they do the lot.
They can arrange it all for me but there will be a charge to have this done, she will come back to me in a few days with prices.
However if i can arrange it my self i would be interested.
    Thank you xx

there are quite a few hair and make up artists in cyprus.

i am doing mine myself though. can't afford to have them done.

if you google bridal hair in cyprus, you'll get lots of sites/fb pages

Ha_x3, i think she means the wedding planners charge a fee for them doing all this for you. as well as the fee, you have to remember you have still to pay the ceremony fees on top of that when you get there. that's about 250euros

just to add, using a planner may be a tiny bit more expensive, but it takes the hassle out of it. plus, they have the contacts and can get trade prices for most, if not all aspects of your wedding (apart from the registrar fees).

because we have a very limited budget, and not in a hotel, it's cheaper (and easier) for us to do it all ourselves.

i can recommend a cake maker!!!!

i'm having a 2 tier cake, with plain white icing, but the top tier sponge is pink madeira with strawberry jam, and the bottom is orange flavoured (and coloured) with orange curd. addin some sugar gerberas too.

it's the 'simply white' cake (which is the budget cake), but she is changing the sponge free of charge and adding the sugar gerberas at 6euros each.

i paid a £50 deposit and the rest to be paid 4 weeks before or when we get there (can't remember lol)

i'll pop the website and the fb page on your wall :)

i've commented on another post on your wall with the links :)

yes, you can book your holiday as normal and then arrange the wedding yourself

you need to decide where you want to get married. do you want to do it at one of their town halls?? this is the cheapest option. you can get married at your hotel, but you'd have to pay more for the registrar to go to you. you could get married on a beach, but also pay the additional fee for the registrar going to you. you can do it on a boat too

wedding cars (if you want them) can be arranged directly with the company too (i have the link for website too)

do you want fresh or artificial flowers...or any flowers at all??

how many people are going with you??

do you want a traditional reception or a party with a buffet after the ceremony??

there are lots of tavernas that can do wedding receptions. i have the link for a very popular one walking distance from the peyia town hall (where i'm getting married)

i'd recommend going onto the trip advisor site to research venues etc

Im in the process of finding things out so fingers crossed! We're hoping to get married in The Sept , the school holidays will be over then and the new school term will have started so it wont be as expensive as July/August time.

Im going to arrange the cake myself, will be making my own flowers and have details of a good photographer those things I'll do myself, I'll have the wedding ceremony, reception organised through a wedding planner-Less hassle for me.

Im going to go with the wedding planner you suggested Heidi-after a few emails back and forth ive narrowed our venue/reception down to two possible hotels-depending which one we book our holiday with will be the one we marry in-both are all inclusive so we have the option of using our all inclusive package to our advantage when it comes to the meal/drinks if our budget is tight!

Louis Ledra Beach Hotel and the Phaethon Beach Hotel-Leaning more to the Ledra at the moment!

I would like to have my hair and makeup done and also my bridesmaids/mil2b and My mum. If my aunty does come (she said she will) then she will do our hair for free as she done it for my cousins wedding also, so would only have to pay for makeup.

Anyone doing their own wedding vows for their civil ceremony in Cyprus?
When we read our copy of our legal vows we were quite taken aback with some of the wording so felt we needed something to make it a little more romantic. If anyone wants to see the official legal vows I can copy and paste them on here. xx

Also how many songs or readings have you been told you can have? We have been told 3 songs, brides entrance, signing the register and bride and groom's exit. We are having 1 reading by my son but don't know what the maximum amount is.

    Yes no worries

    Entrance Music
    Part 1 (Registrar)
You (Grooms name) and (Brides name) know that by your simultaneous consent which is given publicly and formally in my presence and in the presence of the persons now here, accept each other as your lawful spouse and with the confirmation of this fact by your signature you contract a lawful marriage for all the purposes of Civil Law.
You should further know that your marriage cannot be dissolved during your lifetime except by a valid judgement of a court. If either of you (before the death of the other) contracts a marriage while this one remains undissolved, you will thereby be guilty of bigamy and be liable to the consequences provided by the law.

    Part 2 (Repeat after me)
I call upon all persons here present to witness that I (your name) accept you (partners name) as my lawful spouse, to love and to share with you as from this day, moments of joy and sorrow, wealth and poverty, happiness and unhappiness, throughout our life until death do separate us.

    Part 3 (Registrar)
As from this moment, I pronounce you man and wife. You are joined together by your free consent in matrimony and you owe each other love, fidelity, and respect throughout your life. This marriage constitutes the fulfilment of your life and links your destinies on good and rainy days, in happiness and unhappiness, in wealth and poverty, until death do separate you.
On the basis of equality, you should face together all the problems and all the difficulties of life. Together you should shoulder the burdens of marriage each one according to your capabilities. You have both the right and obligation to take care of the upbringing and education of your children so that they may become useful and good citizens and free personalities.

We are adding this bit between part 2 and 3 to make it feel a bit more personal. It's a shortened version of the rose ceremony. If you want to read the thread on rose ceremony I can bump it for you.

    Our Vows
    My vows
You have given me a full and contented heart
From the moment we met, I knew that this was something special
And I know that I want you in my life forever.
I pledge my love to you, Stephen, I give you this rose as a symbol of my undying love
and for every year after on this day, I will re commit my love to you,
by placing a single red rose, in a special place within our home.

    Steve's vows
You have given me a full and contented heart
From the moment we met, I knew that this was something special
And I know that I want you in my life forever.
I pledge my love to you, Donna, I give you this rose as a symbol of my undying love
and for every year after on this day, I will re commit my love to you,
by placing a single red rose, in a special place within our home.
