I really don't know what to do about make up. I'm considering doing my own make up but every one says I need to be pampered on my wedding day. I don't know, I'm very particular about make up and afraid I will end up looking like a clown.

Our photographer said she already taking bookings for October/November 2018. Glad we booked her now, I think we would have struggled to find a photographer for March 2018 if we had left it much longer.

It's mad isn't it but I like knowing how much everything is going to cost me and how much I will need to pay out nearer the time.

I'm not too fussed about make up usually but think they will be best placed in advising on tones and making it last all day. I imagine I will be anxious enough on the day without worrying that my make up isn't going right! I have spoke to a few and seen weddings they have done before to get a feel for someone who could really get the natural look that I am after also.

Next on my quotes list is cakes I think, spent a few hours on pinterest last night :)

I'm still surprised how early suppliers get booked!

Make sure you try a sample of cake! We tried loads going around wedding fairs, most were vile! It really surprised me how terrible the cakes tasted but the supplier wanted a small fortune.

We had decided to forget about cake until next year when we came across our cake supplier at a local wedding fair. It was delicious and we booked her there and then.

Yes, it just perfect. There were no worries about my boobs falling out, the back wasn't too low. I have added some photos on my profile if anyone wants a look. I also managed to negotiate a discount (£120 off) and walked away with a bottle of prosecco. H2b was impressed as mum was picking up dresses without checking prices. Ended up trying on a £1700 blush pink dress. Mum was in trouble when I found out the price.

Soon got her out of that store and on to the next appointment!

Make sure whoever you take dress shopping checks the prices before they give you a dress try on.

I wasn't expecting to find a dress. My original plan was to go shopping next March, exactly a year before the wedding. I am glad I went earlier, I visited five stores in total. In the first four while I could find a dress I always had to have something extra to make it suitable (cap sleeves, jackets etc) which really increased the cost. The last dress ticked the boxes and I didn't want anything added.

WOW! so many 2018 Brides which is nice to see as I started thinking I was some crazy Bridezilla having made all my big bookings already!
We are getting married in 2018 and without really planning on it I have already booked almost all of the day, it sort of fell into place when we viewed our first venue and loved it! small and quaint cosy little barn which was much more budget friendly then some of the huuuge beautiful barns around the area!
Ours is in May which I think with Christmas not being long before will fly around, I am so excited but still feel a bit like I am too prepared! Is there such a thing?

I'm May also and thought I was the only one being prepared but if you speak to photographers, florists etc they seem to already have a number of weddings booked in for then.

Although you soon learn just how much there is to organise that I just wouldn't have thought it before hand, I'm loving it all at the moment though and glad I started early :) x

We booked 22 months before and decided to get all the main decisions made this year so next year we could concentrate on all the small details and ceremony.

It's surprising how fast time is going, I am just coming up to the 18 month mark and I look at my to do list and realise there is still so much to plan. I like everything to be planned and organised in advance, I can't cope not knowing what will happen.

Hey ladies, I've not been on here for ages as work has been so busy. OH and I have now ordered our wedding rings and they will be arriving this week. We only went to have a look but just fell in love with them. As we're a same-sex couple, our engagement rings don't match, but our wedding rings do. They're so pretty, subtle sparkle on them too, bit of a compromise as OH didn't want sparkle, but I did ☺️.

We were a bit cheeky and said to the shop if we were to pay for both rings in full when we pick them up would they be willing to clean and dip our engagement rings for free and they said yes! So saved us £60. It'll be the first time since being engaged that I've not worn my ring so feeling pretty anxious about that, but it'll be worth it to have it back looking as good as new!

We have a couple more deposits to pay next week and that's everything booked. I entered a prize draw on f4ceb@@k recently and won a cd with 10 songs on it to play during our meal. Its songs all played on the piano. Sat and listened to it last night wit h2b. xx

Well done! I'm coming to the end of the summer holidays but don't seem to have organised much. I have a busy few weeks coming up so do feel under pressure to get the big things sorted.

H2b dad is also getting married February next year and we have had to put money aside for that. FFIL has given h2b a tie which he wants him to wear but it is proving a nightmare to match up to his current suits, so need to shop for a new suit. H2b daughter is a bridesmaid and her dress has been bought but we need to find outfits for our three other children.

Our school holidays have ended. Ours went back last week. I start college tomorrow so I'm glad I've got done what I've done. Its just a matter of putting the money away to pay for it. Had a bit of a scary moment with my photographer. Someone posted on facebook about her and it wasn't a nice post. But I've spoke to the photographer and I've been assured all is well and she will be there on the day. I do however need to sort out the stuff we do have in the house as its taken over lol. I got a little poem written for h2b as well and I'm gutted I wont see his face on the day when he reads it as I know it will bring him to tears as well as make him laugh lol xx

Wow that's an amazing deal you got! We said originally we were going to start booking more things in after Christmas but after speaking to a few suppliers and seeing they were getting booked up we are going to book in the photographer/video and transport before the end of the year.

Will have my bridesmaids together for a weekend next month as well so we are going to go and try on some dresses.

I work in a school and have two children. My weekends normally revolve around ballet/tap/singing and homework.

I need to think about transport from my parents house to the venue. H2b is going to drive himself and pageboy, he doesn't see the need for him to have a classic car. After that it will be flowers but I was thinking about looking at those March next year when we hit the 12 month mark.

While looking for a suit for FFIL wedding we popped into the hire company we really like. The attitude of the guy speaking to us was really awful. I found him so condescending. It has really put me off going with that company. Even h2b said his attitude stunk. Part of wants to forget this company but I love the suit, they have the best offer and the ties they offer go with our theme, in fact when we saw the suit at a wedding fair h2b and I knew that was what we wanted.

We are only having my daughter as a bridesmaid. I have a friend (well use that term loosely lol) and we had a wee night in her house and the drinks were flowing and before we knew it she was all of a sudden a bridesmaid but things have happened and well I wont have an issue saying shes no longer bridesmaid. To be honest I don't think she wants to do it anymore anyways as she doesn't really speak to us now.

We weren't going to have a videographer but then saw 1 online and it was a great deal they were doing and have now booked them. xx

We have four children between us, three girls and one boy so they are all included. I then have two friends as MOH and bridesmaid.

My brother will be an usher while h2b brother in law is going to be best man. Or at least they will be once h2b has asked them. Lol.

I'm not sure our budget will stretch to videographer. We will see once we have all the main items booked.

I wanted a video more than the photographer but we have found a great company that offers both. I'm so sorry to hear about the service in the suit hire shop Lynsey that must have been awful. We went to see a car company yesterday and even though they are 40 mins away from us it really felt they thought coming out to us would be an inconvenience so we are looking elsewhere and we are finding better prices and service too. Time seems to be flying by now I can't believe its the end of August next week it will be 2018 before we know it.

Both h2b and I want matching suits, ties etc. The guy in the shop was quite rude, saying he likes the groom to stand out. That h2b should be the only one wearing navy tails and all the others should wear short jackets, different tie for the groom while the others have matching. I could feel myself getting shirty, the last straw was when he asked what our theme was and he rolled his eyes. He stocks the ties that match the theme!

Met with our DJ today! One of the maids of honour is a DJ (she's dj'd at the Isle of Wight festival and other local festivals around the South coast and she's worked with him before so recommended him. He was a lovely bloke, got a really good vibe from him and he has some great ideas for the flow of the reception. I've banned him from playing the cheesy songs like the "Macarena" and "oops upside your head", just because they're really not my thing, and he was really good about it and said if anyone tries to request them he's happy to say no. He's agreed for our moh to do her own short set as well!!! It's all very exciting. At this rate we'll have nothing to do in the run up to the wedding x

Ive contacted the company and they are saying this is normal because they have printed onto glossy paper. Well ive printed onto glossy paper and never had an issue unless my ink was running out. They have said they will send me a sample of them printed onto normal card and printed onto glossy card but using a different printer. xx

    Hey, May 2018 :D

We've booked the venue, registrar, photographer and some entertainment; we've had some really great discounts for booking so far in advance. As we're moving and starting new jobs we wanted time to spread it out so we don't end up stressed, so do that and enjoy! Found some lovely little finds we wouldn't have managed if we had to do it all in less than a year, that plus all the DIY we have time for starting now has literally saved us thousands (or given us things we otherwise wouldn't have had). No time too early I think, pick what you'd like, make sure you love it and use the time to get yourself the best deals and keep it stress free! :)

I cant believe everyone is so organised, and also having such bad experiences :(
We have been pretty lucky H2B is happy for me to trot on as I see fit and he will interject here and there, although I think he was shocked that I have asked him to pick the first dance.
we have booked, venue, main food, cars, flowers, photography, videography, registra, DJ. But still trying to find the best deal on an evening food option (all so expensive)
I have looked at a few dresses but wont go until closer to the time with everyone as my family is very dysfunctional and spread all over the place thanks to marriages, divorces and remarriages! so coordinating suit and dress shopping is going to be fun... not...
also have a seating plan and guest list draught. Making my own invites so have started those, and had my save the dates ordered and shipped. -- am I sounding like a lunatic yet??

But I cant pretend I am not loving every minuite and also glad I started early as so many vendors booking early 2018 already!!!
