Next on the list is the wedding dress.

    Hi Everyone!

I'm Rachel, my wedding is May 2018. I have most of mine booked, just need hair, makeup and DJ. Cake, flowers, invites and dress are all DIY though so a fair bit was off my list to book to start. When would you send save the dates? I'm setting up a website first but I would like to get them sent but also don't want to be too early? Xx

We sent our save the dates over the last week or so. I'm getting married 24th March 2018 so a few months before you.

First photographer contacted and she is available on our date! Yay!

H2b asked for dads permission. My parents and their best friends knew for weeks the proposal was on the cards.

Play fair, dad didn't slip up to me! He's terrible at keeping secrets!

Aww lovely. We knew we wanted to get married and had started to make plans but h2b wouldn't propose as he was waiting for his divorce to finally be finalised (took a looooooong time lol) before he asked me. We had planned a romantic night away and we stopped off at my favourite place and he got down on 1 knee at the sea front and asked me then. I was so shocked and in tears that I couldn't answer him lol. We have an engagement shoot included in our photography package so going to go back to where he proposed and do it there xx

I'm trying to persuade h2b to do an engagement shoot but he's not keen. One of the photographers we are meeting with is currently offering an engagement shoot for £25 is we book her for the wedding. She is also my favourite out of the two!

I've been dress shopping once just me and my mum but I also brought a dress a few months ago of the bay as an option as it was a limited edition, hadn't been worn with no alterations.

I thought my mum was going to be like that but the lady in the shop was so professional and nice mum was always in agreement with her and me which was nice, our main problem will be my nan she has offered to pay for my dress so we know she will voice her opinion.

I went back in June and thought I had found it. Went today, saw the dress again but it really didn't have the same feeling. Today's experience cleared up what I did and didn't like.

The dress shopping experience I find so overwhelming. After awhile all the dresses start to look the same.

The dress I thought I would end up buying just didn't have the same feeling yesterday. I went on my own this time and didn't get swept along with the excitement and emotion of my MOH. It did help going alone, I was able to concentrate on what I did and didn't like.

I went to a smaller boutique after and found that far more relaxing. Two ladies helped me pointing out dresses they thought would look good. They were right of course! Lol. Yesterday's experience did confirm I want straps or sleeves. I am a 38G and felt more secure than I had in a strapless dress.

Me and my Mum went to a small independent boutique and the Lady was so friendly I would go and buy my dress off her. I hadn't been dress shopping before so I didn't know what I wanted but I did want a particular brand which she stocked. She said we could use it as an elimination process to find out what I did or didn't like and what suited me. It was so relaxing and even with mum there she always asked my opinion first. I am looking forward to dress shopping again but I need to try dresses on against the one I already have.

I really didn't expect it be such a hard experience. I thought I really did believe I would walk into a store, pick a dress and order it. I didn't expect myself to be so critical, how some dresses point out everything you hate about yourself.

My mum is the one I need to win around on a dress. If she doesn't cry, she won't want it. She said she will know it's the one when she she's cries. No pressure then.

I think it is a natural feeling to be very critical of wedding dresses because you are searching for 'the one' and you want it to be perfect. Before I got engaged when wedding talk popped up my mum always went on about when she went shopping with my sister and she put on the most perfect gown ever and she started crying so I felt pressure to have that moment too. She did tear up when we went shopping one cause we found a style that really suited me and I had a veil and everything on and second she realized her youngest daughter was getting married. I think it depends on the situation and each person after all she is your mum she has probably had a vision of her dream dress for you in her head since you were born but now its time to show her your dream dress instead.

Hi Kayleigh - congratulations! It is hurricane season in the summer in Mexico. I would recommend the Caribbean islands towards the south such as Barbados, Aruba and Curacao. Just got back from Barbados, rained for all of 5 minuted the whole 8mnights we were there. Last hurricane was 1955.

My date is 26th May 2018 :) when are all yours, how's the planning going? We have paid the deposit on the venue and registrar. We have a photographer in mind who we are meeting the weekend to discuss prices. I have also booked someone to do chair covers and a sweety cart for the evening.

I am trying to hold off until early 2017 to go dress shopping as I would like to lose a little weight first. I want to do this ideally before trying on a dress as styles can look so different xx
