Went to the other car company yesterday and the cars weren't as nice. And the man was so uninviting we had to pry information out of him. He showed us the first car and then left us to it really.
Plus was £660 so £60 more than the company we really liked. Have one more but not feeling overly confident about their car selection but will see prices etc.

I've just found the most amazing entertainment for the kids, its a bus that has been kitted out to be a soft play center!! I've just messaged them and it's £250 for 2 hours hire between 8 and 10pm they would also throw in a 30 min photo op for the bride and groom and includes free reign of the bus (which includes the soft play and 8ft projector which can be used tho show DVD's play the Wii or do karaoke) for the kids, security bands for parents/children unlimited squash, a sweet cone for every child and they will even match the bus's ribbons with our colour scheme!! The bus is in town for a comunity event at the end of the month so will go and check it out then but I think I'm already sold!! I've been wondering what to do to keep the kids happy whilst letting the parents enjoy themselves as it will be a late night so this ticks all the boxes!!

I will be making the most of the photo shoot opportunity!!! Might be able to sort myself a cheeky deal with it too if I play my cards right, doing a bit of research on the bus and it turn out one of my guest sister has something to do with the running of it, so may be able to persuade her to keep the bus there a bit longer whilst she comes and enjoys the party :)

I know I can't wait this is the most excited I've been since setting the date and its not even for me!!
I've started booking appointments to talk to photographers. I'm shocked at how many people are interested, I asked on a fb wedding sales page for photographers who would be interested in a NYE wedding and who would be willing to stay until fireworks at midnight, thinking most people won't want to work or will charge 3x as much for that date, but I got about 25 replies most of which were with what I think are reasonable quotes! those ladies who have already booked their photographer: What things should I be asking in the initial meeting? What sort of price would you expect to pay for 12-13 hours of photography? Should I offer them food and drink for the day?

What PH and I have said between ourselves is that we aren't offering food to anyone but depending on budget closer to the time will add in a meal and drinks for them. our hotel doe supplier meals for £10/15 I think.
In your case though with it being so long it might be worth saying that you will give them 1 meal and them to source the second maybe?

    Ask to see their work.
if the do it just for a business or are still taking photos for a hobby too (our photographer showed us some amazing things he did as just a hobby where he would hire a model for a day)
Sure there's an official thread.. will take a look

    Haha your both welcome!
me too but hoping with the smaller heel I will just have one pair for all day so thought the strap might be better. I have to have a strap for all my work heels as my feet are funny sizes.

I was originally after a pair of red satin ones. Found a lovely pair of LK B3nn3tt on the bay for £35 said excellent condition but were far from it (seams ripping etc) and haven't seen any nice ones which are a deep enough red. but I thought for the price these are great. 8HS so can easily take them back. and all the little savings on the wedding front mean more to spend for the house

Oh oh oh OH on a side note I saw the cutest thing the other day and I'm so sold! Having a french manicure for the wedding but with pretty lace decoration instead of block white. If you go0g1e 'lace french tips' you get the idea. So gorgeous! Has to happen.

when i booked my venue back in june they contacted the registrar and we had fill out a form and call the registrar directly to pay £55 deposit to secure the day and time we want. i was surprised that its nearly £600 for them to marry us on top of the £10,500 we are paying the venue. this wasn't mentioned to us and we presumed it was including in the package as we are getting married/having our wedding breakfast/evening all in one place! so its def not too early to book one.

I booked the registrar the same time as I booked the venue it was a £50 booking fee but that secures the date, can't give notice or do anything more with them until 12 months before the date tho.
I don't think I own a pair of heels with anything less than 6", silly really as I'm 5ft 7 so I'm a giant in heels but I love the way they make me look lol.

Going to have to have a look when I go into kingston later!

Now I've been having a think about what we're having or not having at our do. We are only having 6 people (including me and oh) and just wondering what I should be doing? We're not having a first dance and I'm not throwing the bouquet, as I will be giving this to my oh's mum to put on oh's fathers grave. I just don't know what to do or have. I see loads of stuff but then start to think "there's only 6 of us." I don't want to go overboard but I do want it to be wedding-y. Any ideas ladies?

Where are you having it Mrs T? that could make a difference. I think its fair to say that the day should run how you want it. I can imagine the first dance would be nice with just a few people but at the same time a receiving line would be pointless.

You can still have lovely table centre pieces etc

They didn't have a wedding section in my local so might be worth buying online

I'm having it at Millbrook in Devon. They do a runaway package which is ideal for us as we hate the thought of a bug do.

I'm handmaking the invites. And as there is only 6 of us, we're having favours that are individual to each person. Looking online will probably be the one Emily :)

Just because its small doesn't mean you cant do things and make it special. Your OH could still do a speech if he wanted to. And can still have a lovely dinner etc with table name and centre pieces.

Hello everyone, I'm Sophie, 31 (just) and from Oxford. I've been engaged since November 2013, but planning got put on the back burner due to falling pregnant, our son is now 4.5mths old so we've decided to get back into it. We're hoping to get married April 29th 2017, our anniversary is on the 27th so it ties in quite nicely. In theory we've got a lot sorted....late ceremony, around 4pm, no wedding breakfast. We know who will be in our wedding parties, my brother is giving me away, our colour scheme is lilac and silver/grey and my dress will be Ivory to stand out a little bit more. We're having a christening in 2wks in the church we'd like to get married in so we will be speaking to the vicar in person then. We've started a guest list as we both have large family's and lots of friends so hopefully by the time we get to invites we will have a final list...I know they style of dress I want but won't be sorting that out till next year....we are really struggling to find a reception venue at the moment, we know we need it for 150+ but most of the venues with that capacity don't allow outside caterers and charge ridiculous amounts of money for a buffet. We have a party at one possible venue this weekend so hopefully I'll have some good news on that front

Hi I'm Julie. We are getting married July 8th 2017. Venue is book and just paid the registrar. Am sending out save the date cards at the moment. Once they're done, wedding planning goes slightly on the back burner for the next year while I'm at college. Other than my ever growing Pinterest board that is.
