YAY :) Hopefully booking the venue next week and signing on the doted line.. Exciting.. Scary..

OH has just messaged me about the DJ (complete shock for him to start the conversation) That's his job and we didn't like the hotels first DJ so told them we wanted to remove them from the contract. The new coordinator then offered someone she used to work with or we could have a discount off the package. As its his job, its for him to decide if he likes them and he text me saying he's looked at them and likes the look of it! YAYYYY

Told him that I trust his decision and to email her asking for an apt next Wed/Thurs

    Hello ladies!

My name is Charlotte and I am planning my 2nd wedding. This time though, it's to the right man! We have chosen our venue and am hoping the date will be 31st December 2017. Can't think of a better date to get married than NYE! Just waiting for a reply as to whether they can do it.

Eeeeeek! So excited. Can't wait to share this journey with you all xx

Just spoke to the coordinator at the venue. She advised we have the wedding in July as it is the prettiest month for the gardens. They don't tend to do weddings on NYE as we wouldn't be able to sit down for wedding breakfast until 8pm as house is open late to the public! The venue is more important to us than the date so we will go with July.

Here's the problem... the wedding will cost around £25k. Do I go for July 2015 or July 2016? The extra year to save would definitely be helpful xx

We want to get married in September 2017. We haven't set a date as the venue won't take our booking until September this year (they only take bookings up to 2 years in advance) so September can't come quick enough for me!!

Mrs T that's a shame. I was just cheeky with my Church when they told us that and explained how I'm not good with stress which is why we want to start early and she had no problem.

It will soon be here.. 2 months!

Mrs C, I'm confused.. I thought you were after 2017? So wouldn't the decision be 2017 or 2018?
That's a lot.. is it not cheaper out of seas on a little?

Hi every one!! A massive hello to all the new 2017 brides great to see so many ladies joining us!!!
Sorry I haven't been about much lately, wedding stuff is on the back burner for me a little atm as I'm trying to sort our first family holiday. Plus my sister is now in full planning mode for her own wedding in June next year and as one of her bridesmaids (very unexpected when she asked me as we have only become close as sisters in the past few years) I'm more involved with her planning than my own atm. However I have confirmed the fun casino tho and my dad has said that he will help me find a musician for the night (which is great as dad has lots of contacts in the music industry having worked in it with a lot of well known people for the past 25 years) so without even trying things are sorting themselves out. Mrs C2B getting married at Longleat would be amazing I've only been once (its a bit far away from us down here) but I loved it. Mrs T September will be here before you know it and then the countdown really begins!!

Yeah it's great especially with my sis and I getting married 18 months apart, we're "sharing" quite a bit to save costs, I was playign around with center piece ideas the other day although I've not got it right yet I know for certain which vase's I want to use so have ordered 1 of them which she will use first on her day then I will use on mine and we'll go halves on the cost. Also had a couple of tree's felled recently so had them cut down to decent sized stumps so that we can both use them for outside seating/decoration on our respective days, it's quite fun being in it together. Next big challenge is her hen do. She's not a big drinker so trying to organize a glamping and spa weekend for her

That's a great idea for you to share. With my vases my mom has said she will buy one for me that she will then keep after the wedding. hoping we can do the same with a few other bits and the rest of the family. Don't really want 10 identical vases :)

I saw some lovely personalised champagne glasses yesterday but they don't ship to the UK... gutted :(
We're starting to play with the little bits now.. :D

the fb wedding pages are great for selling stuff on after (even buying them from in the first place) I will be attempting to sell as much as I can (apart from my wedding dress) after to put some money towards our official honeymoon. Oh my MOH let it slip the other day she's already started planning and booking bits for my hen do... not sure how i feel about that I know what ever she plans will be amazing (she's great at stuff like this) but on the other hand I just wanted to stick with our usual xmas eve traditions and call that the hen and stag that year lol

just type wedding into the search bar and you should get a list of selling pages in your area there is 3 or 4 for use down here for both general sales and business advertising so you should find plenty around you honestly people sell all sorts after their big days plenyt of bargains to be had!! Prel0ved and sell my wedding (**********) are also great for second hand bits, not so good for me as everywhere is so far away from us but I've seen loads of bits on those I would have gotten if it wasn't a 4 hour round trip lol

What a plank! I meant July 2017 or 2018!! Anyway... decided I can't wait to 2018 anyway... hahaha! I am due an inheritance as my dad died 5 weeks ago. He couldn't afford to put anything towards my first wedding and hated my ex anyway. I know he would be so proud to pay for my dream wedding so that's what he will do.

Sharing decorations etc is a great idea. You end up with so much left over and no clue what to do with it.

well I've had a fun morning. Didn't mean to get back into planning mode but decided to have a little look at a couple of wedding websites and got drawn in, started setting one up with the idea that I would do it bit by bit and set it live when I send out my invites. Searching through my docs to find the invites I finished a few months ago to check a few details, only to find I've save the evening invites but not the day one!!!! Fortunately it hasn't taken me too long to re do them and SAVE them just need to check I have all the dimensions right but can't be bothered to pull everything out of the cupboard to check the ones I have all ready made up so will leave that until much closer to the time.

There only made up on the laptop atm, I'm making the pocket folds and insert cards bit by bit then will have the writing parts professionally printed and stick them on to the inserts in about 18 months time. So all in all no big thing it's just I knew they were done and I was really happy with them so annoyed I didn't save them.
I need to sort an engagement shoot in the next few months want to do it around xmas time as I want to use one of the photo's to make save the date xmas cards which I will send out next xmas, got enough money in the pot now to book something so best start shopping around

yeah I started mine 4 months ago, so far have the templates for the wording done and made 20 pocket folds with invites, only another 70 to go plus cutting and sticking the wording part in, but its quite enjoyable as I just do a couple every now and then when I feel like it. Haven't done any for ages because the weather has been good but it doesn't matter as I still have just under 2 years before thay have to be posted!!

This Christmas, then it would be just less than 2 years. I'm getting married on a Monday so wanted to give people as much time as possible to book leave etc. plus folks are already asking when it is so some know already - might as well let everyone know sooner rather than later.

Il do the actual invites about 6 months before I think? Il work that one out closer to the time lol x
