Okay so this is a tricky one.. We had our Civil Partnership in 2012 to which i had no family attend and therefore we had my wifes cousin as maid of honor and 2 of her brothers as best men..

Since then ive met some family i had no idea about.. 3 sisters a brother and 20 nieces & nephews. (All off my fathers side)

The drama comes here.. Wifes cousin is now a raging alcoholic who has moved down south and is just a jerk... Her brothers are just useless! They lost their youngest brother earlier this year and neither of the lads have been there for my wife.. I really don't want them to be anything important when we re-do our vows, i didnt get much choice last time! her family are VERY close and i have a feeling they expect us to keep the same people as our bridal party. I've heard little comments about what dress this muppet wants to wear this time and believe the lads have mentioned still having the same suits..

I however am totally inclined to have my neices & nephews step in along with our children if we have any at that point.. Would i be totally crazy?

I need help lol! Keep the ones i won't be happy with to save arguements or replace and tell them kindly to do one?

If they've had the chance before, just say the nieces and nephews are having a chance this time round.

I wouldn't, it's your day, not theirs so have exactly who you want.

Not knowing your other family before is a perfect excuse to have them involved this time in my opinion :)

Its your day you decide who you want in your bridal party and who you want to invite. I have sent out my invites and am waiting for people to complain they haven't got theirs yet. These are mainly my older brother and his kids. Have invited the ones I want there and tough if people don't like it x Family politics is so hard when it comes to weddings x

It's one of those situations we all have to deal with isn't it! Dreading actually telling them because i know it wont take long before the subject comes up

I'd have whoever you want now. It's up to you and if you have changed your mind since then that's for you to decide. Some people change their mind when planning their one wedding so your allowed when planning you renewal of vows x

She understands why i want to change and does tend to agree but she doesnt want to upset her family at the same time.

Her Family helped pay alot of our Civil Partnership however this is going to be fully on us so they don't have any holds over us x

It is up to you entirely. No one has the right to assume that they will have a part to play. If the nieces and nephews are young you could say that you're only going to have children in the bridal party this time. The other option is that you each have separate parties, so your wife has her family and you have yours (if your wife wants her cousin and brothers that is). You could also say that you want to give others a chance to participate that didn't last time, so you're going for totally different people.
