    Hi all,
My and my H2B will be buying a house and moving in together at the same time as us getting married.
We're looking at having a gift list and have looked at several suppliers. Part of me however wants guests to bring presents along to the wedding with them, rather than us receiving cards and getting all our presents delivered by a supplier a few weeks later. Plus some of the items on our gift list will be things we need straight away when we move in as we'll be asking for the necessity house items.

Has anyone else done this before or had a similar issue? How did you solve it?

    Thanks in advance!! xx

Im sure that when we enquired at d3b3nh@ms about a hift list there was an option to not have things delivered. Most people buy the item and bring it along anyway unlessnits something that needs yo be delivered.
Talk it through with your suppliers but i think uts anmoption you can 'insist' on. (sorry couldnt think of a better word) xx

I agree it's more exciting to have your gifts there and then so you can enjoy opening them the next day, however do you really want to be lugging it all home? We just got given cards as had asked for money, and a couple of presents, but taking that home with us plus all the wedding stuff that we had to take home was a bit of a nightmare... we had to take 3 cars just to fit it all in. So in that respect I think it'd be easier to have it all delivered, it would also prolong the excitement :-)

I am presuming people would still get you cards anyway and it will be lovely to be able to open them and read everyone's kind words the next day.

Are you going away on honeymoon directly after your wedding - if so, then you need to consider how you would get all the gifts home. I would have them delivered. As Flossie says there are bound to be people who still bring the odd gift and cards to the reception anyway, so there would still be something for you to open. x

Looking forward to becoming the 3rd and last Mrs McLauchlan

We're not going on holiday straight away, so would have time to get stuff home, there's something about the table of presents etc and the wedding that I love the idea of....
