I went to a store that was closing down just to have a browse, I wasn't intending on buying anything but just to have a look.

I tried on a few dresses but they didn't suit me so the lady went and picked out one that i might have liked, and I found it the best of the lot. I didn't find the whole dress trying on experience as fun as what I thought, was getting quite hot and bothered and felt a bit overwhelmed which is why i most probably went for it.

I keep looking back at the photos the lady took and I do like it but it looks really boring and I don't look amazing in. I'm hoping it's just a bad picture as she took it at a funny angle and you can't see the detailing. Plus it needs taking up at the bottom so maybe once it's tidied up too I'll feel better. But right now I just don't feel excited by it and when i see photos of other peoples they look so much prettier.

Bless you hun, I think you might feel better once everything has being sorted out.

Like Missweedles said if we could see a picture we could give you some advice, im sure it was just the angle the lady took it from and its gorgeous!

I can't get the photo to load up on the forum so have quickly changed it to my profile picture.
You can't see it on the photo but there is beading on some of the bust. I know it is plain but that is what I prefer, I did try on fancier ones and didn't like them.
Not keen on the satin either. Think i made a rushed decision. Might try it on again, hoping I'll feel better.

you could always get more detail etc added . but if its the material you don't like, maybe go have another go in the shops trying on stuff and see if you can find something that really makes you go wow and happy, you can always resell the dress you have.

I like it although I agree it's quite plain but that's what you like. I'm seeing mine for the first time since November tomorrow it's my fitting and I'm worried I won't like it. Can you try it on again? Or take some friends to see it? Hope it all works out xx

i like it, its lovely hun, i would personally go around other shops and have a look, take some friends(bridesmaids) and try on some more different and the same style dresses hun and see. if you don't find anything you like as much as the one you have then you know its the one but if you do find something different then you can always sell this one on! Good luck lovely!xxx

Hi, I really like it... Less is more!!!
I didn't really have any bling on my dress apart from one little bit on the bodice... What is it about satin you don't like? I didn't go for satin only because I'm a curvy girl and it cling to me so I went for organza...
I think you look really pretty xxxx

I really like it but I had a plain dress so would love it. Maybe try it on again with jewellery and a veil? Brides with plain dresses often accessorise which is what I did. Maybe also try with a pair of heels if the picture was taken without?

Alternatively try on some other dresses then if you find something else you can resell this one.

There's nothing wrong with the dress itself. I don't really want anymore detailing than it has. Not sure if the satin looks to shiny. But think I look frumpy, but I did feel uncomfortable having the photo taken as other people were around, had the wrong bra on and also need some height with shoes. The dress is at my mums so think next time I'm there I'll try it on again and hopefully I'll feel better about it.
Thank you for your opinions :)

I have my veil which is shoulder length which has a jewelled comb and little diamantes on the veil so that will add some sparkle.

Definitely, try it on again with some heels and right underwear. That can make a difference with any outfit let alone your wedding dress lol. Maybe do your make up/hair too? If you still aren't sure I'd be tempted to try some others on as IDL suggested. I think it looks very pretty tho hon xx

Thats kind of like mine! I blinged mine up a bit after realising i wanted a bit of shine with a diamante 50's style headband off the bay. just that little bit of bling made me fall in love with mine again!

also, try it on with your shoes and everything and you can see if there are any areas you can improve on with it! xxx

Also maybe consider a cathedral length veil for extra wow factor, I had one and it was perfect with my plain dress. The edges had ribbon trim around it x

I have changed my profile picture to the back of my dress quickly.
It is a corset, it is tied up into a bow. Rather than having a bow at the bottom is there a way it can normally be tucked in? It just looks like a lot of excess material, but don't want this alters as need the material to tighten up the corset.

Looking at that photo too I really need some good body shapers lol.

I felt the same as you when I went to try dresses on. I thought it would be a great experience but tbh I didn't really like any in the shops.

I agree with everyone try everything on together and see how you feel then

I'm sure I've seen lace up dresses with the tie part not visible, best thing I think would may to ask in another dress shop? Xx

It doesn't have to be tied, a lot of people have it tucked inside the dress once it's laced up :)

Yeah it is a lot of the time. Personal preference I think and depending on each dress too.
