Gosh I cant wait!!!!! Thinking of having a cocktail and canapés wedding reception in the afternoon around 3.30/4pm... then at half 6 moving onto the clubhouse at the ramside for the evening reception, with disco and hog roast. Whats everyones thoughts?
EmmaD444 have you booked your venue yet?

If you can afford it then go for it :) were not having any canapés because we're trying to keep the cost down. Our venue is £5k alone with the extra people, meal, buffet and welcome/toasting drinks

I no, it defiantly soon adds up. My H2B's parents are paying for the catering... so will have to discuss with them.
I do like the sit down meal idea, because we are only having a small wedding reception of 40 people, then we can all sit round one table together. so everyone can talk and mingle together.
    Hows everyones wedding planning going?
    My heads hurting haha!

Oh that's a good idea if there's 40 people, makes it a bit more cosy I think :) silly us have about 65ish :(

I don't really have anything left to do :( OH is borrowing the guillotine from work again but cant have it til Friday, then we'll be finished with our invites by the end of the weekend.

eee, bet you are really excited!!1 Not long to go now. Hate planning though, get all stressed over the finer details. My H2B keeps telling me its about us to not the pretty décor or food, but he clearly doesn't understand. haha.

Yeah I am. Being on here everyday obviously means I know the countdown in days, and OH just thinks I'm sad that I know, it's not like I count ha! I've loved planning, we booked our venue end of Feb and I would say about 90% of the wedding was booked or bought by end of May! I only work part time nights so have nothing to do while OH is st work all day, so planning has kept me occupied, until the last few months! it's all about the pretty decor ha! We have 7 months left on Thursday x

any1 been to chilton country pub and hotel in fencehouses??

martinos r offering us our money back and r uncomfortable with continuing till we meet with them. (so fsr they eill not set a date and time!)this is all thx to a small complaint about their peterlee pub and asking for reasurance for my wedding instead of this hey sais a full refund can be given up till end of november as there is people waiting for my date and for the full day(we r half day)

only other option so far is this 1 at fencehouses everywhere else is booking up sooo quick!!

I've not heard of it but just googled and it looks nice, can't see much without giving them my details though lol. If your old venue are offering you a refund without even trying to keep you I would go elsewhere. It's not very good customer service and they don't seem to be interested in keeping your booking, just going after more money! Very rude.

apparently they do alot lol its just 20mins the wrong way for most of the guests id feel quite bad for moving it to there lol. we will see there is the option of getting a blank room somewhere but that wasnt my ideal situation!

Don't worry too much about guests having to travel. Mine have to to travel about 10-20 minutes out of town to the middle of nowhere but if they want be to there, they will :) your main priority should be finding a venue that you and h2b love and is right for you! And certainly somewhere that won't mess you around x

I am having trouble deciding about a photographer. My uncle is getting married in July so I think I will wait and see what his photo's turn out like and ask about prices etc. before I decide. If they are OK I think I will just book the photographer he used. It will be about the right time for me to book as well! x

There is a wedding fair on at Middleton Lodge on Sunday 12th October, Lucy. It is my wedding venue so I am going there to see what contacts they have and to see it all decorated up. Can't wait! It is also free entry if you are part of the Br1des Up N0rth. Is anybody else going? x

Did everyone see about Crathorne Hall by the way? We looked there as h2b's sister got married there about 10 years ago but I wasn't too fussed about it because it wasn't exclusive hire so you would be sharing your day with other people so thankfully we never booked there and we booked Middleton Lodge instead x

There was a big fire there!! It was on the news that a couple had to rearrange their venue within days of their wedding and Crathorn Hall are now having to rearrange everyone else's wedding for the foreseeable future as they don't know how long it will take to repair. The top two floors of one of the wings was completely destroyed with smoke and water damage to the rest of the floors. It was a lovely place, I wasn't sure about it for a wedding as they weren't willing to let us hire a marquee and it wasn't exclusive but the building itself was lovely. I feel really sorry for those who had planned to get married there x

I know! I would have dreaded that and now that I think about it I hope I can arrange wedding insurance soon as I don't want to be out of pocket if anything like that happens. Insurances that I have looked at though don't normally let people book until 930 days in advance :( x

Saw an article today; the fire started in the roof of the east wing from dead flies from the blue fly zapper light that fell onto flammable materials underneath x

Oh dear! Did it say anything about when they are able to start taking bookings again for weddings etc? I have a bridal magazine here which I received from going to a wedding fair a couple of weeks ago and it says that there is due to be a wedding fair at Crathorne Hall soon. I don't know whether that would still be running or not or whether the full venue is closed until further notice x

I think I will :) Just because I know h2b would probably like to see the wedding fair there as Crathorne Hall was his first choice until we saw Middleton Lodge and his sister also got married there so he would like to see how it turns out x

finally starting to get things booked now, we decided to get married at bowburn hall, deposit is paid, registrar deposit is also paid, still need to book photographer and entertainment, however I think I may have found the dress! bridesmaids will be wearing deep red/burgundy as we are having a winter wedding in November 2016, which will be 14 years to the day we started dating x

If you're still looking for photographer, I'd like to recommend Peter Lane Photography. He did a brilliant job at the wedding of my colleague. You can check it in google.
Stunning photography work, I think. :) Maybe you'll like it too :)

    Hope that helps xxx
