Right, so here it is... me and hubby are already married although secretly (long story) however our plan was to have our wedding as usual and no one would have any idea that we were already married... we had booked a registrar to do the ceremony so we thought we had got away with it... however for other reasons we had to change the ceremony time last month and now the registrar cant do the ceremony as they don't have that time available. Does anyone know who else can perform the ceremony? I've already looked at celebrants but they are so over priced and we are already over budget...

    Any advice would be great...

    TIA

    xxx

If you are already legally married I think anyone can because the legal bit has been sorted.

Is there a friend or family member you can trust to be in on the secret?

Agreed, anyone can do the ceremony as you're legally married. It's effectively a renewal of vows. They'll obviously need to be confident enough to conduct the ceremony in public, and you'll probably need a few rehearsals if it's someone who hasn't done it before to make sure it all goes smoothly. It would be an ideal way of involving a trusted friend who already knows about the secret marriage.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I agree with the other ladies, an actor, confident public speaker, celebrant (although can be expensive like you know) ect could fill the role as long as they can swear secrecy.
May I ask what made you and your husband get legally married earlier? It must have been so hard to keep it in and as a secret!
My FH and I have a good reason to get legally married asap but we are hoping to be able to wait for the main event.

We are renewing our vows and a family member is carrying out the ceremony. He was our page boy the first time round so it's special. That said, you couldn't do that because family and friends would know it wasn't official. Have you contacted registrars out of the area? or what about a church blessing? We went to one last year and would never have known it was a blessing and not a real wedding x
