Hi everyone I finally have my engagement ring after waiting 5 years for it :). I've started looking at lots of pages and lots of magazines but where do I even begin?

    Hi Lucy,

Congratulations and welcome to UK Bride xx

I would start with your budget and guest list. They sort of go hand in hand as guest numbers may depend on how many people you can afford to feed or vice versa as it was with us where we had to feed 70 minimum so had to arrange savings to suit the people.
once you know how much you need to save you can start to think about dates and get started

Hi Lucy, congratulations on the engagement!

For me i'd say the first port of call is drawing up a guest list with your other half and sharing it with your respective families.
I started out with a budget (assuming 70 guests) but when I talked to both my and my other half's families it turned out that there were a lot of people i'd forgotten about and the guest list now stands at 25 - that extra 25 adds up to quite a big cost so i'd try and nail down the number of guests you want, then drawing up a budget!
Your budget will likely influence what sort of venues you want to look at and your date (how long you need to save etc!) and then it all sort of falls in to place after that. It's not too difficult to get into the swing of things.
