This is a massive long shot, my name is Lloyd, my wife to be is Amy.

I've been waiting to give Amy the wedding of her dreams, we've paid for basically the whole thing which I know is becoming very common, however due to some complications with previous employers Amy was basically out of work most of last year.

I'm looking for some help to make sure I give her all I can, and we are a little short and am trying everything I can think of to make sure the day goes to plan.

we are getting married on the 8th April 2020 at the mill barns in Alverly.

Basically I'm wondering if this crowd funding lark is actually what it says it is.
I've included my gofund me page on here for help and have promised to help others when I can after the wedding, we did have to cancel our honeymoon this year due to lack of funds.

Anyway any help would be amazing!
    Thanks
    Lloyd

    Hi Lloyd,

Me and my partner are just starting out on our wedding planning journey and we have realised how expensive weddings really are.

A lot of our friends are already married and all of them have said similar things to us, eg:

No one remembers what favours you gave, or how many decorations you had at the venue, all they remember is whether the food was nice and if they had a good time or not.

The bride and groom don't get to enjoy all elements of the day, as your day is all planned out for you (what you do when etc). Then they had a short time to mingle and before they knew it the day was over, don't get me wrong it was the best day of their lives to date, but the words of advice to us were not to spend loads of money on filling the venue with decorations and pleasing everyone, as you cant please everyone and you wont get to enjoy all of it. Its only when they looked back at photos that they remembered having certain things there.

For example they had some beautiful singers and they cannot remember hearing them at all, as they didn't have time to enjoy them.

Most of our friends asked for a donation towards their honeymoon, maybe you could consider this idea?
Or another idea is to ask your suppliers for some discount by advertising their business at your wedding, just by leaving their business cards next to their displays. Or haggle, as I've heard it makes a big difference as all costs are inflated anyway.

Hope my post helps you in some way.
Good luck with your wedding day.
    Kerri
