    I don't even know you but I'm on a mission to help and get what you deserve- I really hate when companies try and get one over on people in a vulnerable situation- it's wrong and makes me mad- I'm not the sort of person who shouts but I am very pointed and stubborn, I find my rights and quote and make them know how unimpressed I am and that I'm not going to let it go until I get the outcome I want- xx

    Hello ladies - I have contacted the company who make the wedding dresses directly to make them aware of how We have been treated so be interesting to see what we get back. Will also be letting the owner know that we don't accept her lame offer, but I won't be asking for the dress due to the advice you have provided me and when we get back we look at our legal options x

    Adding to Michelle's comment, even if you have made partial payment on a credit card, the card company is still able to help with the full cost of the product.

    I know it's easier said then done, but try to enjoy your holiday. No amount of worrying is gonna help the situation between now and when you get back x

    such a good idea to contact the company who are making your dress directly, they will have a copy of the size that they recieved from the shop too. maybe they will be nice and give you a better option than the shop, at least they will be able to give you a copy of the order xx

    Hello all - I got an email from the owner of the shop late this morning. It was quite surprising that the tone was totally different... Her previous email was so nasty and I think it was to scare me. She confirmed she was holding my dress in storage and wished me a happy holiday - no chance she meant it thou x

    I really do appreciate all your kind words and support over these past few weeks.
    I can honestly say I have never been treated so badly by someone who is supposed to make your wedding so special. I feel like I have been robbed of a very special time in this whole process.
    We will be seeking legal support and I am waiting to hear back from the company who make the dress.
    If we are told we have a legal have of winning we will do what we can, and deserve the money back.
    After what we have been put throu I wish we had some way of telling others about our experience without the worry of been done for slander.
    Will keep you posted how I get on finding another dress and if we hear anymore from the shop owner x

    I really do hope you get a positive outcome as it must be heartbreaking, have yiu worked out what you are going to do for a dress, especially if you cannot resolve in time?

    Well I get married exactly 4 weeks today. Luckily I have a wonderful bridal shop in my village. When I was initially looking for a dress I was going to buy one from there but then found the dress from the other shop and went with that one, to my mistake.
    The owner of my local shop is doing everything she can to help me and when I get back from my holiday we will be getting another dress from there.
    It is of course more wcoense and hopefully I will either get a refund, or I will try and sell the dress which doesn't fit me as it will not have been altered.
    I worry about leaving a review incase the owner of the shop takes legal action for slander. My experiences of the lady tell me she would, given how she has treated me and my family so far so as much as I would like to put a comment, I worry it will backfire on me, especially while nothing has been resolved which is all down to her.
    If she had given me a refund and the chance to go elsewhere non of this would have happened, and both she and my family would not have been throu such upset X

    maybe the owner of the shop has had a call from the dress maker and its put her n edge so shes been abit nicer to you as she can see your not going to be a pushover!!

    You can leave a negative review as long as its a honest account of what has happened, and you dont call her any names. Thats not slander. slander is making a false statements about someone, but your version is the truth. i would definitely wait until after your wedding day to put a review on though, and i would do it to warn other brides!! She put your dress on the rack for gods sake, she really angers me!!

    The thing about leaving a review it is your opinion of the service you received, therefore you definitely don't have to worry about slander. It is the service you received from your perspective.

    Well I think after the heartache we have been put throu, I just hope the owner at some stage sees sense, but I somehow doubt that.
    I know that she will say upon her initial email to me staying my measurements etc and that we should be grateful for what she offered to us, my response indicated we couldn't prove or disprove what she said therefore we had to accept it. She will use that as her way of saying she had the right to put my dress on the rack as the bigger size was with the seamstress, although she never actually asked us or told us that she would be doing it. That's her get out clause.
    I'm just really looking forward now to my appointment on Thursday to try and get a new dress! X

    Hello all - well I'm back from my short break and have signal again now so can keep you all posted.
    As I previously said, I contacted the designer of the dress via F-B. I have given them as best as possible the information and offered to provide them copies of the emails I have and they have asked for details of the shop which I have given them.
    It will be interesting to see what they respond with.
    Not heard another word from the shop owner. Think this week we are also going to speak with a solicitor x

    Good evening ladies! Thought I would give you all an update.
    Tonight I got my new wedding dress!!! It's beautiful and comes from a local shop where the owner has been absolutely amazing! She was emailing while I was away with suggestions and got in different dresses for me to try. She has even discounted my my dress to help and it's one she ordered in especially for me. I go to see a seamstress on Saturday so as long as the alterations can be done we are all good and I won't be walking down the isle in jeans and at shirt!
    The designer basically said they have no idea who the orders are for, as they don't get sent brides names etc so they wouldn't know which order was mine even if they looked.
    We will hopefully be speaking with a solicitor also tomorrow so will let you know what they say.
    Thank you again for all your support, it really has meant a lot and made me realise I wasn't being unreasonable with the owner of the original shop and what we want (a refund) is justifiable! X

    I've been following this post from the start and I'm glad you managed to find a dress, such a shame that the other shop has put you through all this extra stress coming up to your Wedding though. I can't believe the designer have said they don't know whos is who, I have seen the order form to the company that was sent for my bm and it has my name on it. If that is the case and they don't put names on their orders, you can see easily how the shop would get away with swapping the dresses. Hope you get your money back hun.
