Bit miffed this morning, two weddings were mentioned at the full staff meeting and mine wasn't. My line manager did apologise, she said she hadn't mentioned it as the principal doesn't normally mention weddings, and whereas sometimes she comes round asking for news she hadn't on this occasion. If my boss had realised that the principal was going to mention weddings she would have told her. My boss' boss new about it as well though, and he didn't think to mention it. Apparently she takes a big interest in the lives of those who come into contact with her, but otherwise people just aren't on the radar and she doesn't generally even know names, so she wouldn't have thought to find out if anyone in the library staff other than the librarian had anything going on. I wouldn't have minded if no weddings had been mentioned, although I might still have been a little bit disappointed as I know of one or two that have been mentioned in previous meetings, but for two to be picked up and not mine was annoying.

I know you say they just picked no one in particular but if you are going to do something like that it would be best to check and mention everyone.

We met with the photographer last night and finalised the album. He's sending that off to.print this weekend, and hopefully we'll have it in about four weeks. We're now waiting in for the delivery of the John Lewis gift list. It's anytime between 11 and five, and they seem to be going towards the later end of that. We're pretty much stuck, as although they will call us it's only half an hour warning so we can't really go anywhere. Wish they'd hurry up.

We have presents! We've managed to put a fair bit away, although we're going to need to completely rearrange the kitchen cupboards to get glasses and kitchen equipment in. I have no idea where the food processor is going to live. We're now having fun setting up our new ipads, although mine refuses to believe me when I tell it what the password for my email is. I've still got to set the SatNav up, and my husband needs to work out how to use the machine for converting LPs into MP3s. Then I just need to find out what kind of coffee to buy for the Tassimo machine, which I'm very much looking forward to trying out. Oh we also have to work out how to install the new washing machine and once that's moved we can put the new rug down. We were given a lot of gift money from my aunt and his great aunt and uncle so we were able to buy some big items to add to the list.

The photographer emailed on Friday to say that the photo album has arrived. We just need to find a time when he can drop it off. It's getting a bit annoying as he doesn't seem to be that great at checking and replying to emails. On Friday I said we could do either Saturday or Sunday afternoons, and when I didn't hear from him emailed again with availability during the week. We don't have much free time as we're very busy with a major Christmas project in Cardiff. He responded on Sunday to say that he could come at tea time on Monday, which was just about doable before we dashed off to choir. Then on Monday morning he said he hadn't checked his diary before sending that email and couldn't do it, could he do today at the same time? I emailed straight back to say we could do tonight but not until 8:30, as I am working late. This morning I still hadn't had a response so contacted him again, and he came back and said no he's out tonight, but can do Friday night or Sunday. Sunday is no good for us as we have church in the morning, then I have rehearsal all afternoon and we have church in the evening, and we both want to be there when it arrives. Fingers crossed Friday works out. It's tight as I finish work at 6:00 and we have a meeting at 8:00, and have to eat during that time, but we'll manage somehow. He was a brilliant photographer and I love the shots he took, but it's so difficult organising meetings with him.

I just realised that I hadn't got as far as saying that we now have the photo album. It looks amazing, and we have showed it off in church, choir, work and anywhere else we can think of. We also have two smaller versions to give to our parents, and a DVD of the images. The photographer also gave us a calendar using our photos, which was really sweet as that wasn't part of the package. He also gave us a handful of pocket versions of the album, which are actually in the package above the one we paid for, so they were an extra gift as well.

That's very sweet of your photographer to make a calendar for you of your wedding photos and to give you extra little pocket photos which wasn't included in the price probably for keeping you waiting and being busy and not being able to meet up with you xxx glad you have your photos and you love them would love to have a look at the album

Has anyone else who recently married found that they can't cuddle someone's baby without people making jokes about "getting practice in"? They all say it like it's a totally original joke, and it's driving me bananas. I feel like a stuck record sometimes explaining that yes I do want to start a family but we need to upsize first and that won't happen until after Christmas.
