i'm not 100% sure but i think u can get married in your church however if u have children u should have them christened church of ireland. Me and my fiancee arent very religious hes catholic and in church of england. A nd we arent getting married in a church we are having it in a hotel however my fiancees mum and all her side of the family are very religious catholics so we have said that if we have children we will have the children christened catholic. But im sure if your church allows it im sure you can get married there.Hope this helps

Is he christened Church of Ireland or just practising? If he's not been christened there shoudn't be a problem but generally speaking one religion's church wont allow someone of a different religion to marry in it, however some priests are more relaxed than others. Make an appointment to see the Father at your Church to discuss it. We're getting married in the Catholic church, my fiance is Catholic but I've never been christened or baptised so they're quite happy for me to marry there as long as I regularly attend the services and go to classes that are designed to help me understand the religion I'm marrying in to.

Your best bet is to make an appointment to see the Father of your Church and see what he says, he may be willing to do it, you can only ask!

I suggest you both go to the fathers of both your churches and see if you're both able to marry into each other's churches and find out any other hidden details.

My h2b is Sikh and I am catholic. I had to apply for permision from Bishop I got it straight ahead. I heared that there was a marriage like yours done by 2 priests in catholic church they did it together. You can talk to your priest as far as I am aware it is possible

2 priests would be cool! Like 2 drummers in a band!!

Why not speak to both priests - im not religious myself so im not sure how it all works. I used to go to church years ago though, and was quite involved with it believe it or not - i was the Rose Queen once!

The wife goes to live with the husband when you marry. So really you should be going wherever he goes...

    From the CofE wedding site:

"I’m Church of England and he’s a Catholic. Does that matter?"

It doesn’t matter from the Church of England’s perspective. Anyone is welcome to be married in their local CofE parish church. (A complication would only arise if one of you has been married before.)

If one of you is a Roman Catholic and you want the Roman Catholic Church to recognise your marriage, you will need to seek the advice of your Roman Catholic priest about the permission required for marrying a non-Roman Catholic. Some vicars encourage couples in this situation to involve the Catholic priest in the marriage service too. See www . interchurchfamilies . org . uk for more information.

    Maybe try that?xx

Do you both want something of your specific religion? If not, there are churches that are multi-faith - perhaps see if you could marry in one of those? I am an atheist, but I went to a funeral at a church that basically was for anyone with a faith of any kind, and actually it's the only religion-based place I actually appreciated as a non-believer. I thought it was lovely that they welcomed anyone with any kind of faith at all, and would do services to suit. I wish I could remember the name of the type of church it was..... This particular one was in Kendal.

Ok, as someone said you can have two officiants, however dependant on how strict they are they can refuse to conduct a joint ceremony if this happens you can marry in one and have a blessing in the other.

Failing that look into a humanist ceremony they are certified to marry for most religion and can therefore create a totally unique ceremony for you. This way you will be married in both religion at the same time.

I am catholic and religious, H2B was christened Church of England. We are allowed to get married in catholic Church and when we'll have children they will be christened catholic. H2B is not religious, but catholic rules accept this we'll just have to provide proof of Christian Christening. and we met the priest who is totally cool with all that.
