I have a question! hahaha
If everything goes as planned, we are getting married on a church. Can we play any songs there or just hymns?

You should be able to have a certain song to walk In and out to though, my friend did

I know I can have it, the registrar put it on the list of songs, but do you think it's appropriate to have the 'wedding march' at a hotel wedding?

So far
I want Last Night on Earth or When It's Time by Green Day walking down the aisle
OH wants Everything Is Awesome (yes, the song from the Lego movie) to come on just as we finish signing
Both of us are pretty agreed on All I Ask Of You from Phantom of the Opera as our first dance

For the reception I really want Green Daze (a cover band for Green Day) but OH refuses (he doesn't love them like I do) and I don't think we could afford them anyway :(

Walking out we want something different to the wedding march - still having a think about what the organist can do. It's in a church but I REALLY don't want 'Here comes the bride' or the wedding march lol! xxxx

Came across a lovely acoustic version of Michael Buble - Everything this morning. It's by Clarissa Angela if anyone wants to have a listen. Contemplating using it for either first dance or walking down the aisle.

There won't be any music at all during our ceremony, it's in a Greek Orthodox church.
I was quite disappointed when I learned this

And daddy daughter dance is: nothing else matters by metallica.

So have had a change of mind for what I am walking down the aisle to. Originally it was going to be Danny Elfmans - Grand Finali but after watching Once Upon a Time recently I watched as Rumpel played in the backround the instrumental music for Beauty and the Beast - 'Tale as old as time' while dancing with Belle. I instantly started getting emotional and decided I wanted to walk down the aisle to it instead. I asked what the OH thought of this when I put the Essential Disney album on and he said it actually sounded really nice without vocals and it times well with BM, MOH2, FG and then Myself and MOH1 walking down the aisle.

First dance is still Unity by Shinedown :)

I'm looking at having a guitarist for the ceremony... but can't decide on either one who sings... or one who just plays the music....

Donna, I think it would depend on the guitarists voice. If he has a soft voice then yeah... otherwise I'd think guitar only.

It also depends on if we can find a guitarist who doesn't sing. We've found a good one who does, but can't seem to find one who doesn't-which is annoying as we thought that would be easy.

Nah-it's me being silly, if I'm paying him £225 he can bloody well sing lol... we're looking at ex students of our music teacher friends for just playing guitar, hoping they will do it quite a bit cheaper.

Haha-I know, waiting for the student to get back on a price... wondering if I should have just jumped in with an offer, but didn't want to offend him.


Anyway-how soon did people decide on their first dance? I think we have one planned, but just unsure on whether the band can play it or not, they say they will learn any first dance but we only want it if it will suit their vocals.... how soon do you think they'll want us to approach them about it? I don't want to come across as crazy?

Right, no yet then lol.

It's not on their set list, but I'm not sure if it's on their repertoire.

OH listened to the song I like for our first dance yesterday and he loves it. Think we may have decided on Everything by Clarissa Angela (Michael Buble cover) x

Signing the register - still to be deicided I'm thinking nothing gonna stop us now oh prob won't agree
Walking back up - bag pipes -flower of Scotland or Scotland the brave
Piped into dinner the opposite of walking back up the aisle unless piper has better suggestions.

Im finding this quiet hard to pick our first dance song! We have had a discussion a few times but cant decide

Walking in I am being piped in and then as we walk out together again piped out and then also piped in to our wedding breakfast.

I haven't thought of what I want to be piped into yet, I think ill have a word with our Piper to decide.

At the moment we both like a cover of Michael Buble - Everything for our first dance, but we've already changed our minds quite a few times so watch this space! We love it though because it's not really soppy and cheesy, it's a little upbeat and cheerful but the lyrics are still really cute and lovely.

Struggling with songs for walking down the aisle, signing the register and the exit.. Kind of like Walking on Sunshine for the exit but don't know if it's just tooooo cheesy lol. x

Walking down the aisle- ED Sheeran Thinking out loud (I Chose)

Walking back up the aisle- KCI & JoJo All My Life

Cutting the cake- 3 of a kind Babycakes (I Chose)

Signing the register- All for One I Swear

When we eating- DJ & CD of tunes and Hubby chose the other 3 we will sort out The CD or iPod list together Xxx

Sorry if this has been asked already, I get confused with longer threads lol.

I'm going for quite a traditional church wedding and my h2b has said he really wants the organ for coming in/ out. However I REALLY don't want to walk in to 'Here comes the bride'. I've actually got my heart set on walking in to Ave Maria, my Grandma was Austrian and an opera singer and she sang that at my mum and dad's wedding so it would be a nice link. Mum, Dad and h2b think it's a good idea.

Will the organist be able to play it though? Or could I ask them to 'learn' it (we aren't getting married till next August)? We haven't had our meeting wit the vicar yet to discuss hymns/ readings etc, she said we wouldn't need to see her about it till January, so would the time to check it out be then?
