So, we've booked the band for our wedding and I have discovered (when I received the contract) that my OH has requested the band learn the song for our first dance. News to me, I didn't even know we'd chosen one lol Anyway, he's asked them to learn Mardy Bum by the Artic Monkeys, the slow version they did at Glastonbury. Now, I can understand why he's asked them as it is, believe it or not, our song. He sings it to me when we've both had a c**p day and it has us in stitches. I love the song, as does he, but I'm not too sure on it being our first dance! I think I had visions of something really romantic lol

I can see this becoming a bit of an issue later on... I'd like the repertoire that my gran (church organist) has got for guests entering. For entering I'd like billy idol (if I'm allowed!). Signing the register, atm is a toss up between smetana and saint-saen, but I quite like debussy's arabesques so not sure. Walking out I do want a traditional march. First dance, oh god. Not a clue... and dad wants utah saints for the father/daughter dance. As in, with full on running man. Could be interesting!
CommentAuthorMrsRusty2B
Worryingly, my H2B keeps joking about having Gangnam Style as our first dance song :(
CommentAuthorBeverleyW66
We have finally picked everlasting love by Jamie Cullum as our first dance song, maybe a bit cliche but its probably the only song that both I and h2b like. We have such different tastes in music that this has been a nightmare. But glad to say I am happy with this song

Down the aisle - sade by your side OR Shania Twain from this moment, we both love them both and cant choose! During the register we are having disney songs but the instrumental versions - disney had to be incorporated somwhere lol and I want to c if anyone will notice what they are!! During the reception - I've never noticed music being played before at a wedding breakfast! Is this usual? I haven't thought about this at all :s 'Our song' is when love takes over which we have heard an acoustic version of so we are having that as our first dance, again not telling anyone to c if they realise wot it is lol!!

We haven't even talked about the music for the wedding yet but we have known before we got engaged that out first dance would be A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, the version from the Twilight film, as it is such a beautiful song and it is "our" song.

The worship group that I play with will do the music before the service. Then because that will be contemporary Christian music we'll have two more traditional hymns with organ, one of which will be Love Divine, All Loves Excelling. I'm walking into Cantique de Jean Racine, and out to the Hallelujah Chorus.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

When the guests are arriving we are having Somewhere in Time by Maksim Mrvica, I will walk in to The River Flows in You by Yiruma and we will have Rose's Theme from Titanic playing when we sign the register ^^ x

I'm so excited! We'd chosen our first dance before he'd even proposed but was struggling to find other songs for other bits of the day but was listening to my iPod whilst cleaning and have found our signing the register song - as love is my witness. It's a beautiful song. Had to share on here as my h2b wasn't as excited lol

Walking down the aisle to a piper (Not sure which tune yet) Singing the register Who knows but maybe - How long will I love you Walking back up the aisle married - again the piper will play. Father/daughter dance not sure Mine and my dads song is Brown eyed girl by Van Morrisons (Dad has three girls im the only one with brown eyes so I adopted this as our song lol) Not sur eif its appropriate for a wedding song or if the band can sing it. First dance - is looking like Never gonna be alone by Nickelback but depends if the band can sing it. Not sure if there will be music on from ceremony to meal as people will be chatting the same during the meal but the hotel might put some background cds on

WALKING DOWN AND THOUSAND YEARS ARE THE BEST SONG THAT YOU CAN CHOOSE IN YOUR WEDDING. BEST SONGS , L LIKE IT, HOPEFULLY YOU ALSO LIKE THEM.
CommentAuthorHannahF54
We're struggling on a first dance song, so far we have Muse-Unintended, You Me at Six-crash or Ellie Gouldings version of Your Song-we're very indecisive! H2b suggested Tim Minchin, If I didnt have you....he thinks hes so funny!
My entry-Ellie Goulding-How long will I love you Register-The script-I'm yours and Relient K The best thing and our exit song is a band called Gloria Cycles, song is called religious (relieved the regsitrar said that was Ok as we were a bit worried!)

1, signing the register - Selection from a cello and guitar duet 2, walking out - hmmm not sure... maybe kci and jojo - all my life... 3, farther/mother/other- daughter dance - motown, soul, rnb, 80's, will definitely have a candy step moment, this gets everyone on the dance floor 4, first dance - a good friend will be singing jonny gill - you for me 5, during the meal -- willl be music by a dj with a mix of gospel, soft reggae, lovers rock 6, during photos - probably nothing as will be outside.
walking down the aisle - pachelbel's canon
CommentAuthorJennK
Walking down the aisle - Pachelbel's canon Signing the register - string arrangement of the stranglers' golden brown plus another we haven't decided on yet. Possibly whole lotta Love (led zep) Back down the aisle - string arrangement of the darkness' I believe in a thing called love ( can't wait for this one!)
First dance - acoustic version of Fleetwood mac's Songbird, played and sung by a choir friend
Definitely taking advantage of the close family connection to a member of the string quartet
Our perfect day - 08.08.15 <3

It's soooo difficult to narrow it down! We're big music fans and a lot of our relationship is enjoyed with music! So I've got a list that I've been adding to all the time! So far we've sort of narrowed it down to: Bridal party entrance: Bella's Lullaby from the film 'Twilight' Walk Down: a cover of TheXX- Angels No idea what to play for our walk back, or signing of the register, maybe something by Mumford and Sons and Lana Del Rey, as they're our favourites, maybe sign the register to Lana Del Rey Video Games, and maybe something like Little Lion Man for walking back up the aisle. First dance is Gabrielle Aplin - The Power of Love And no idea of we're even going to do a Daddy/Daughter Mother/Son dance yet! X

My sister and BIL had music on whilst guests were being seated in the ceremony room, then something when we walked in and down the aisle and one for out. Nothing whilst they signed the register. That was a civil ceremony. I've been to a few civil ceremonies which have followed that arrangement for music.
