Ok, so I'm trying to plan all the little things at the moment as a little cash strapped but can't sit and twiddle my thumbs doing nothing so figured i'd pick our music for the ceremony but where do I start???
We're having a civil ceremony and I'm just gonna play some lovey-dovey pop songs while the guests are getting seated but how long will this last for? I then want to change the music for the entrance of the bridal party before playing the song for me to walk down to, this part I've got sorted (classical music). How long does the signing of the register last and what kind of music would suit this best? Should I switch back to light hearted lovey-dovey pop or stick to the more serious classical music?
And what is everyone doing for walking back up the aisle with their OH's I want something fun but not too cheesy... anyone got any suggestions...
TIA xxx

Our music is Guests arriving - piano love song ( no words just piano version of famous love songs) Entrance of bride - yiruma river flows in you. Signing the register - Stevie wonder signed, sealed, delivered and Train hey soul sister. (Was told to pick two as need to pose for photos so might run over one song) Walking out together - grease we go together.
We are having a church ceremony but timings of music parts must be pretty similar. Have fun choosing

Signing of the register generally requires two or three pieces or songs, depending on how many photos you have. For walking out you need something upbeat and triumphant, and that you really love. I'm using Hallelujah Chorus, but in a civil ceremony you can't use that as it's religious. For the signing of the register the style doesn't matter, just pick things you like. I would suggest about half an hour of music before the ceremony while guests are arriving.

Haven't put much thought into what will be played before I walk down the aisle but I do know I will be walking down to Danny Elfmans - The Grande Finale played on the piano. This is also known as the "ice dance" scene in Edward Scissorhands. Might have that playing as well when we're walking back up the aisle together.

We're having a string trio for our ceremony, and our choices are:
Pre-ceremony (as guests are seated and while they wait for the arrival of the bride): Selection of classical pieces
Walking in: Pachelbel's Canon in D
Signing the register: Florence and the Machine 'You got the Love', with Take That's 'Greatest Day' as a back-up
Walking out: The Beatles 'All you need is love'
