    Hi all,
We've bought all the fathers and ushers thank you gifts, and was originally planning on getting our 2 mums a bouquet of flowers to give at the reception, the problem is I know my mum would love a bunch of flowers, but my OH's mum really doesn't like flowers. Has anyone ever given anything else? Would it be odd to give one mum flowers and the other something else? Should we just give them both flowers?

We bought both mums flowers but didn't give them to them during the wedding as we were worried about them not being in water etc and just generally being in the way... my mum stayed with me at the venue the night before, so my OH left some flowers in a vase for her at her house so she could see them when she got back. He also popped round to his mum's the day before and gave her hers.

On the day we gave them trinket boxes, personalised scrabble pictures and vouchers for afternoon tea.

That's a lovely idea Flossie... so rather than doing flowers on the day, what do you mean by personalised scrabble pictures?

They are lovely. I can't remember now - something like "Dear Mum, thank you for helping to make our day so special. Love Mr & Mrs _____" and your wedding date, though you were able to personalise the cards to say whatever you wanted.

I got mother in law and father in law a joint present of crystal wine glasses engraved with a bottle of wine for them to share. As I do find it exceptionally difficult to find something she would like.
My mum got a Charlie Bear (She collects them) and a cheaper bottle of wine.
