My brother got married recently and my mum talked throughout the whole ceremony. Not to anyone. Just making comments 'they have had way more people here!!!!' 'Oh doesn't she look nice!!'
My sister in law said it was all she could hear during the ceremony.
I am planning y wedding now and I am terrified she will do the same. Il be so hurt and my FI will go crazy.
How do I try and stop her? She thinks there is nothing wrong with it. I said it showed a lack of respect and she said 'he's my son!!!!' As if she didn't need to respect her own children.
I'm terrified, what can I do?

I think for something like that you can only be honest and just mention it in general conversation. Just say something like its off putting and you don't want to be distracted for what is the biggest thing in your life. Try and keep it relaxed if you can. If she makes a fuss over it tell her you'll sit her at the back lol!

Is your dad around, and will he be with her? Maybe he can be detailed to tell her to be quiet. Can you point out that the registrar has to be able to hear clearly everything that is going on without distraction in order to be able to legalise the marriage?

You could ask her what it would feel if the shoe was on her foot? If she was getting married and all she can here is a person talking while she was making the vows of her life? x

Gag her! Or ask a family member to speak to her or just shut her up if she tries it at your wedding.

I think if she can't understand when you're explaining to her beforehand, then if it was my mum I'd be saying shut up mum x
